Ok so now I am looking forward to dining in the Haven Restaurant with the Clintons and the Clooney's, for a lot less than the +$300K to eat dinner with them at George's house.

When all is said and done, those who go for the Haven or other exclusive areas on other mass market lines are still just getting a penthouse on top of the ghetto low income housing.
Good for those who need that validation that they are "special," but laughable to those with self esteem.
For those who want to travel with others of their upper socio-economic background, there are other cruise lines where they can find that and have an entire ship to roam around in and not just a special "enclave" behind locked doors.
All in all, however, this is a slick marketing gimmick. These special areas are usually on the highest decks and all the forward or aft. These are the sections of the ships that for years were either open decks or had other public areas on them for the simple reason they were the area where the most movement would be felt on the ship and, therefore, unsuitable for passenger accommodations.
While the use of stabilizers can somewhat control roll but does nothing for pitch or yawl, many feel that ship movement is a thing of the past. That naivete plus the lure of "special" treatment has the gullible paying more for the worst cabin locations on a ship. Their mistake is realized when the top heavy cruise ship hits rough weather.
The passengers in the low and amidships cabins are enjoying the cruise while those in the upper cabins are barfing into the toilet.
Bahahahahahahahahaha!! I hope this was a joke.

Hey everyone! Just a quick question, we're in the Haven this fall, does the Getaway now have video on demand instead of DVDs like the Escape?
I'm curious about this too?

I'll be on that sailing -- April 24th... Ill try to post them....
Yay!

We're trying the Haven 5/29/16

We are bringing costumes. Slash, Madonna, Cindy Lauper type costumes. I think it will be fun.

Your son is adorable. Thanks for the review.
Seminole- we are on the same cruise as you

The white party is now called the "Glow Party" on our 3/27-4/3 cruise it was on Friday our last sea day. There was also a 70's/80's party I think that was on Tuesday.
Thank you so much for the info. Helps me pack!

Is there a white party and a 70s/80s party and glow party?

What was your itinerary? What ports?
-
We booked an excursion in every port for our upcoming cruise in May, and we are so happy to have the $75 credit per port. Nice perk.
-
Thank you everyone!
-
We have cruised many different lines and they all seem to be one or the other if I recall.

I've always saw hot tubs on cruise ships as nothing more than soup stock pots.
Ewww so true. We stick to our own hot tub at home . . . with the kids.

I plan to bring all email receipts with me on the cruise. That website is so random with what it records as purchases. [emoji848]

Ok what i meant was, I have just booked a shore excursion using the number provided to use the promo. However, When it shows up on my planner, it shows as full price without any deduction for my shore excursion credit.
I was just checking to see if this is normal and i will receive a credit on my onboard account, Or should i have received $75 off of the total for the excursion.
I booked the same way that you did, by calling the number, and they told me during the conversation that the booking would show on my onboard account and the $75 credits would also show. And the tickets will be in the cabin when we arrive. I had 4 of these bookings at different times and it sounded like they were reading from a script. Surprised they didn't do this for you.
-
Sounds like fun to us!
-
We have shore excursion credits and were asked to call the shore excursions number to book. We were not charged ahead but onboard we will see the amount on our bill minus the credit. The tickets will be In our stateroom the day we arrive. (IMO it should be made more clear that you have to call to book with excursion credits but hope this helps)

Thanks everyone for the great tips and sharing your experiences. You've been very helpful! Unsubscribing from this thread now.;)

You could have someone else in your room fill up an empty pitcher with the tap water, walk it to you, and pretend like they are your butler if having the water brought and served to you is the deal breaker. I know filling up one's own glass is beneath some folks so this might be your best be if a constant supply of water is needed.
Bahahahahahahaha!!
I saw another post of yours and I think you wrote that you have a young son. I hope you are not teaching him to be a bully too.

I wasn't in the Haven, just an aft penthouse, but I got a liter bottle of water in my cabin and I had the Butler bring a pitcher of iced water daily, both at no charge. BTW, I had them empty the mini-fridge out and that is where the Butler put the pitcher of iced water.
Oh good. BTW I have seen others post that they had the mini fridge emptied. What are they emptying? Is it like a mini-bar?

can i bring bottled water in my checked luggage? just thinking of bringing a couple. not a case
I think I remember reading on the NCL website that they prefer you carry it on. I'll look it up again and get back with you.

Guess where the water in the pitcher comes from? Yep..a tap on the ship! Same with your ice, food, and beverages!
The tap water will never "run cold", so ice is needed!
I seriously apologize if I am offending you folks that feel the need to explain to me where tap water comes from, etc. I was not asking the question I asked to annoy anyone. I also wasn't asking the question to which you have provided an answer.
I have my reasons for asking the question I asked. If you don't have an answer specific to the question I have asked, please move on to another thread where you can possibly demean someone else. Unkay? Gheesh!

The tap water answer was a legit answer to your question. No reason for your snarkiness.
I agree that all of the tap water answers have been very helpful information and very much appreciated.
As for the "snarkiness", I thought it would be helpful for him if I spoke his language. That's what these boards are for right? To help each other?
Ok so I'm through now entertaining his "snarky" answer. Let's move on. Thank you.

We buy a Christmas tree ornament and a refrigerator magnet in every port.
My son has a snow globe collection that I started when I had to travel a lot in a previous job. He buys a snow globe in each port.
We also like to participate as a team in the trivia competitions.
