We're on board Splendor right now, having snapped up Regent's generous offer of a 7 day Athens round trip at short notice.  I'll be blogging each day as usual, if you're interested.  www.elegantsufficency.org.

So far so good to be back!!

We are definitely interested and looking forward to your reports.  Thanks.

Before this dress code thread gets too far out of hand and follows the usual pattern, it is important to remember that while everyone is entitled to their opinion about proper dress, the only opinion that counts is Regent's opinion. If Regent's dress code allows items such as aloha shirts and golf shirts, then by definition they are appropriate to wear in the dining rooms and elsewhere on the ship. If you stick to the Regent dress code, you'll be ok.

    Excellent reply.

Sorry for repeating myself, but there is much I don’t know about cruising in the future, and I would just like to know.

Most of us would like to know, but none of us can accurately predict the future.  I am worried about my November 1, 2021 cruise from Athens.  But, I am optimistic that almost all the passengers will be vaccinated and the majority of the ports will be open.

Sailing with non-vaccinated passengers may carry little additional risk for those of us who are vaccinated.  But what will happen when one of the unvaccinated persons comes down with vague symptoms and maybe a fever.  What limits on activities, etc., will be imposed on everyone until there is 100%% certainty that the passenger doesn't have Covid.  And what if an unvaccinated passenger actually comes down with Covid?  Imagine the chaos that will result with schedules, ports, disembarkation, etc.  I also can't imagine why a cruise company or its passengers would want to risk any of these events happening.  Political games in this instance are at odds with public health safety and confidence.

I understand why Regent would not want the risk of having a non-vaccinated passenger on board.  However, if a non-vaccinated person is allowed on board, I will not be worried since I am vaccinated.  i frequently come in contact with non-vaccinated people.  I got vaccinated so I can live a normal life and cruise.

No matter what the outcome of this (and I believe the cruise lines will require vaccinations for boarding) like it or not, the Florida governor is getting plenty of national press, which has nothing to do with the needs of Florida.

Sailing on a ship without 100% vaccinated crew and passengers is not something I want to do.

My wife and I are vaccinated.   A few non-vaccinated people does not bother me because I am vaccinated.  I am getting on the Splendor in Athens on November 11, 2021 even if there are some non-vaccinated.

Pappy1022, not sure why you would remove you post,  it is absolutely correct.  Berkshire's comments would be laughable if they weren't so absurd.

Agreed.  Berkshire's comments should be removed.  Leave politics out of this discussion.

We are also sailing on this cruise 12/8/2020. We will be in Cape Town for 4 days prior. Are you also doing this?

We are doing the 4 day post-cruise.  We are starting in Lisbon with a 3 day pre-cruise and then taking the 24 day cruise from Lisbon to Cape Town departing November 14.  The December 8 Cape

town to Cape Town cruise is a back to back cruise.

I previously joined and posted on the December 8 Cape Town to Cape Town Roll Call as  jhenry1 suggested.  However, I got no response there, so I also posted here.
