  1. Sweetfury, I know what you mean about the Save The Dates and Invitations. Everything seems to be geared towards the 'one day' thing. Our STD's are going out this May to give people plenty of time to save and plan. I found something I think will work for us. Basically it says ' Pack Your Bags" and Save The Dates for the wedding of Patty & John Aboard the Caribbean Princess May
  2. Hello Jeepster, Congrats on your upcoming wedding as well!! I can't imagine how nerve wracking this has been for you. I'm sorry you've had to deal with so much anxiety and confusion on top of planning a wedding. Unfortunately I've just read today several cruise lines have canceled sailings until the end of May. Princess has cancelled their Caribbean sailings until the end of June 2021, and offered to automatically move people to the same itineraries in May and June of 2022. This could potentially fill up the ship we are on if people choose to take Princess up on their offer. Yik
  3. Bellini Menu???? That's right up my alley😁
  4. Thanks for the info, good to know ..
  5. Hi all, We are booked on a cruise next year and I happen to read on another post Princess does not make both people in a cabin get the alcohol drink package if he/she does not want it. Is that correct or did I misinterpret what I read? We are new to sailing on Princess and just assumed (I know, you never do that) it was the same for them as it is for a lot of other lines we've sailed on. I can't seem to find anything in the fine print saying one way of the other. Any help much appreciated. thanks
  6. Hi all, My boyfriend proposed on New Year's Day and whenever we've 'talked' about a wedding in the past, it's always been on a cruise ship. After almost 2 weeks of discussion we've decided to take the leap and book a Princess Wedding for May of 2022. Before everyone says we are crazy, we are going into this with our eyes wide open. We are well aware how many things can go wrong, from the Pandemic putting everything back into serious lockdown, to friends and family not going for health, personal, or financial reasons. We are a bit older and an 'intimate feel' wedding with fewer people is
  7. Wow, It sounds like you had an amazing day! I just became engaged New Years Day, (so i'm a newbie for sure) and my fiance' and I have always talked about being married by the Captain of a cruise ship. (still feels strange to say fiance' :) We realize with the pandemic we need to plan far out, especially since things are changing from day to day in the cruise industry. We have a tentative date of May of 2022 on the Caribbean Princess, but are holding off booking for another month or two, just to see how things are then. Reading about all your planning, and how things worked out on
  8. Hi all, My fiance' and I are newly engaged and thinking of getting married on board Princess Cruises in May of 2022. We normally purchase travel insurance when we cruise but now that there will be an on board wedding involved we weren't sure if we should also purchase wedding insurance separately. We didn't know if things related to the wedding would be covered under the 'regular' travel policy or not? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Since we haven't even begun to make plans it's all still a blur.:) Thanks
  9. Thanks for the info, its a great idea. I'm leaning towards a mermaid/trumpet dress so rolling it may be a good option. 🙂
  10. I'm curious to see how the cruise lines are going to handle those folks with medical conditions who can't wear a mask? While there are people who have a legitimate issue with this, we've all see those who don't and say it's their 'right' not to wear one if they don't want to. They get on planes and trains, etc, and wait until the doors close and they are in motion then remove it. 😬
  11. I'm surprised it actually took this long for someone to sue.... My opinion, I can't see the Carnival Cooperation(which owns Princess, pls correct me if i'm wrong), 'giving in' to this. If so, they will end up bankrupt. Once you pay the first lawsuit, how long before the class action suits begin?..... Sad situation all around
  12. I'm actually sailing on Brilliance the end of the month solo.. (my guy would rather ski so he misses out :) The thought of doing nothing, or everything, and not having to consider anyone else's feelings is wonderful. Just me, my kindle and a drink, bring it on I enjoy traveling alone and do it whenever I can. I too have heard those comments, and seen those looks made by others, some nice, some not so nice . It doesn't even register to me anymore. Best comment I've ever read on these boards was this: "What someone else thinks of me is none of my business"
  13. HI all, I'm looking at a week long solo trip next Feb on the Caribbean Princess. I've been on Royal and Norwegian and wanted to try another line for comparison. If anyone has been on her, or a sister ship, i'd appreciate your thoughts and input about how it was. I'm 52 years old, and a bit more on the relaxed side- don't need crazy activities or to be running all over the place 24/7- but do enjoy meeting people and trying new things. Thanks
  14. Lois, Congratulations on your retirement. I've got a little over 3 years to go and am finally starting to see the light at the end of that very, very long tunnel. It's a tiny pin light at this point but i'll take it} I wish you a great trip and a healthy outcome from your treatments when you get back. I"ll be sending positive thoughts your way. I don't post a great deal on here(no time with the whole working for a living thing:) but I've enjoyed reading all your tips and advice for many years. I look forward to many more...
  15. Hi all, I have a question for all the Destination brides out there. How did you fly your dress to your ceremony location?. (preferably either American or Delta Airlines) Did you buy it a seat-yes I would consider it if absolutely necessary-or bring it as a carry on, hoping there was a first class closet to hang it in, or last resort, put it in the overhead bin(yikes). Checking it is not even an option.. I wouldn't let it out of my sight under any circumstances. Would it be worth it to bring a portable garment steamer in case there were wrinkles needing to be taken care of once we get
