  1. This is one site that offers a live stream of the Getaway float out tomorrow:

I am so excited to be able to see the Getaway Float Out!!!! We booked her in Feb '13 to cruise in Feb '14. I have watched and read most everything about the Breakaway in anticipation of Getaway. It will be great to now see her first-hand. Also glad the float out time has been pushed back to 1530 local time which will make it much easier to watch in Central Time!!:o

  2. No pun intended, but I was in the same boat (literally) that you were. I rescheduled for Feb 8th, which will now be the inaugural. Are you sailing on the 8th as well?

No. We are booked for 2/22. I was gun-shy about the 8th sailing after the Super Bowl fiasco. Just felt more comfortable to wait a couple of weeks to make sure there were no more surprises!!

  3. I was in 13236 on Breakaway, which is the same cabin but on the Port side. The balcony was great...appreciated the extra size and the wind block. Had a great view the entire cruise.

Awesome!!! I am counting down the days now!! We were originally booked on the Getaway Feb 2nd Inaugural that was so infamously canceled for the Super Bowl charter. I was SO disappointed but after I had time to "get over it" and move on I was able to rebook the same stateroom category but better balcony and lower price than the inaugural was which makes me very happy!!! Funny how things usually work out for the best!!!

  4. We just booked one of these angular balconies on the Getaway. I found this video on YouTube which shows the cabin and the balcony. This is on deck 12, but it looks to me like the room is the same size as the BC category that we booked.

Thank you for posting!! We have also booked an angled balcony (13836) on the Getaway in Feb '14. Based on my research of Breakaway I felt confident these were larger than the standard balcony which has gotten much conversation for limited size. Any additional sq footage in balcony without additional $ is a good value.

I also read that angled balconies with the forward view can be windy which certainly makes sense when the ship is in motion. So I was also pleased that ours is a aft facing angle which should prevent unwanted wind.

  5. As stated my husband is Diamond level with Harrah's and has been for several years. This was his first cruise offer but he has since received another one but travel date options were not workable for us. We are hoping that after sailing on the Getaway's inaugural 2/1/2014and he has established play with Casinos At Sea he will receive offers from CAS directly. We'll see...it would be nice to have additional travel options because it is hard to pay for hotel rooms when you are always comped with Harrah's!!

  6. My husband is Diamond level with TR. He has rec'd many travel comps over the years but just recently rec'd first cruise offer. We picked up our certificate at Harrah's/Tunica MS the first of Feb. Our certificate had options of Alaska, Europe, Bermuda, Eastern and Western Caribbean with no restriction as to any specific ship. We had until 4/13 to book trip and had to sail by 2/14. After researching all the ships, destinations, etc we chose the Inaugural sailing of the Getaway on 2/1/14 to Eastern Caribbean from Miami...which just gets us under the wire on travel date!! We upgraded to a balcony and are thrilled about our trip even though it is almost a year away.

I did find out through discussion with others picking up their certificates on the same weekend that everyone's were different. Many listed specific ships to specific destinations. Nevertheless a great comp!!! :D

  7. My husband (Diamond level TR) and I picked up TR cruise voucher this past weekend in Tunica, MS. It had several trip options to include Bermuda, Caribbean, Europe and Alaska. After researching all the destination options, available dates and ships, we chose and are booked for the maiden voyage of Getaway from Miami on 2/1/2014 to Eastern Caribbean. During the booking process the NCL agent seemed surprised this was available through a casino offer. But after checking she stated everything was good to go!! We are SO excited...upgraded to a balcony and may go on up to mini suite when the time gets closer. Regardless of any additonal charges, taxes, etc is is a great comp!!
