  1. Sad they did not get more 2.0 upgrades. I loved the movies under the stars when I was on the Magic in Aug last year. Bars are not my thing so I guess I won't really notice any change from Oct 15.

    Thanks for all the answers

  2. Here is a question, I am not sure it's been asked before. I am thinking about getting the cheers package for my next cruise. I don't drink but I do like the virgin drinks like sex on the beach without vodka, peach schnapps os really its just Cranberry and orange juice. Can I get that with the cheers package. I am ok with it being counted toward my 15 drinks a day.

  3. If you paid the insurance premium upfront at the same time as your deposit, you can cancel Carnival's trip insurance for a full refund up until your cruise is in penalty. The final payment date would be an an example of a time that you are in penalty.

However, if you booked Early Saver or Super Saver, the insurance is not cancellable / refundable because with with these 2 fares you are in a penalty situation from the moment you book and the insurance company is exposed to the risk of you filing a claim for any nonrefundable fees.

  4. I just scored FTTF for my Aug 31 Magic cruise. I had almost given up them posting any more then someone in our group this morning posted that is was open so I jumped on it and was able to grab it.

  5. I did the round trip out of San Diego about 5 1/2 years ago. It was one of the best cruise that I have ever done. A lot of people were telling me that by the time I got off the ship the last day I would be kissing the ground, but they were wrong. I loved the days at sea. I am waiting for the 2015/2016 season to open up so I can book it again.

  6. I am looking for a beach that my brother in law and I can go swimming at the beach while sister sits in a chair under an umbrella reading her book. Looking for All-Inclusive resorts that would have the beach umbrella and chair for my sister or free beaches that I could rent the chair and umbrella. Please give me your thoughts. Going at the end of Aug on Carnival Magic.

  7. My sister won a cruise for two at a casino last month. She could pick any 7 day or less cruise but Alaska. After looking around we choose the Magic going Aug 31. She upgraded to a window cabin and added a 3 rd person. (that's me Yay)

Can someone tell me about cabin 1246 n the Magic.

Also my sister and her husband spends a lot of time in the casino, what are some of the card tournament for my BIL to play. Any thing I should not miss doing?

FTTF is sold out but I will keep watching out for it.

We are thinking of flying out the day before and staying in Houston then driving back to the airport the morning of the cruise to catch the shuttle from Carnival (good idea?)

I have looked at renting a car one way from Enterprise but they say because of the holiday weekend no one way rental. Even if I could there is nothing open on Sunday when we return so that is why the shuttle from the cruise line looked like the best way to go. Please let me know of any other way that I am not thinking about.

Ok anything else I should be thinking about?

    Thanks for all your help.

  8. I can't speak for the OP, but we have had to rent a car. Enterprise is the only company that lets you drop off the day of, but if sailing on a Sunday, they are closed. You have to drop keys off in a box and call a taxi to get to the ship. Also, only one Enterprise hub allows one way rental out of Houston Hobby. (Haven't flown into Houston International/Bush yet so I don't know their set up.)

Last time I used Hotwire and booked a car for much cheaper (almost half) what I was being quoted elsewhere online. We booked our parking reservation online- cheaper, you know where are gonna park, etc. We used Dolphin parking wirh little issues. This time we are trying out Galveston Park and Cruise since they are walking distance from the ship.

There are also hotels that offer a parking/shuttle package. We booked this cruise last minute (six weeks out), and hotels were way too expensive for our taste. Cheaper to rent a car and park it than staying in Galveston. However, if you book well enough in advance, shouldn't be an issue. I booked a hotel in Alvin this time (using Hotwire again) to save $.

I called Enterprise and because I am going over a holiday weekend they said that no one way car rentals. She said there was a Enterprise about 12 miles away. So I thought well ok lets do that. Once I hung up I checked and the rental in Webster Tx is about 30 miles away. So I guess its back to using super shuttle.

  9. I might be going to Key West on Carnival in Aug. I was looking at buying tickets ahead of time for the hop on hop off tour. Is there a stop by where the ships docks. My sister can not walk far so this tour would be great if there is a stop not far from the pier. Also should I buy the tickets ahead of time or can I buy them when we get off the ship?

  10. I am going on Carnival Miracle in Nov 2014 my passport expires Feb 2015. I have asked a few people and they say because I am just doing Mexico I will be fine. Then I was reading today that the passport has to be good for 6 months after travel. You guys are the experts so tell you what you think.
