  1. I am assuming that the OP either booked a gty cabin or like others said it was released back into the inventory. My friend booked us on a cruise on the Bliss for October of this year. I had to call to get it switched to a HC cabin. I was so happy I was able to get it. Some other cruise lines will let anybody book a HC cabin, but they also have the disclaimer that they can move you if someone with a disability needs it.

  2. on my Bliss cruise in Oct, i plan on coming in a day early and staying at a hotel with free shuttle to the cruise port.

havent figured out which hotel(s) that is yet

I am also going on the Bliss in October. We will stay at the San Pedro Best Western Plus. They have the shuttle to the port. It's a nice hotel. They have breakfast in the morning. Eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy last time we were there. Just make sure if you stay there that you get your shuttle time assigned to you. I wanted to change mine to an earlier time, but it was full.

  3. I was wondering if they would possibly air the Academy Awards. I am thinking they won't as I know it airs on ABC and that channel is not on the ship. If anyone has any knowledge that it was broadcast last year I would be curious to know. Thanks in advance.

  4. I would try to book it as soon as you board the ship. I doubt you would get in on a drop in. I want to book this restaurant on my Star cruise and I cannot book it ahead because it isn't showing available. I am going straight to the dining desk to book when I board. I am hoping I will have a shot if I do it right away. Good luck. I hope you get to go. It's really an amazing meal.

  5. Picking up where I left off. We are still in San Pedro at the Best Western Plus San Pedro Inn and Suites.

We head down to the included Breakfast.

    Susan has bacon and eggs.

We head back up to our room. We make sure we have everything, bags are tagged, and we have documentaion out for the port. At 9:45 am, we request an Uber to take us to the World Cruise Center. The hotel had a shuttle, but it was full and I had heard stories of multiple trips needing to be made before, we just got our own transportation.

The Uber arrives and we load everything in and head to the terminal.

I have stayed at that hotel before and we had to let them know the night before what time we wanted to catch the shuttle. We reserved for 10:00 am and had no issues. They should have asked you the night you checked in. Loving your review. I sail in 46 days on the Star for 9 days. Thanks for taking the time to write this.

  6. Not trying to hijack this thread, but why do they allow more children on board than they have room for in the kids program? I remember one year I wanted to book a Princess cruise and was told I would have to be waitlisted as they already had their quota of children booked. Just curious.

  7. It is next to Gatsbys and Le Bistro on deck 6 but when we sailed the Star this past fall I never saw it open. We are really into wine and were looking forward to it as well. Hopefully you have better luck.

Thank you for that information. I was pretty sure that was where it was located. That's strange it was never open. I will ask at Gatsbys to see if they know if I find it not open. Thanks again.

  8. We are booked on a 9 day Mexican Riviera cruise. My friend bid $45.00 each for upgrade to oceanview and $75.00 for upgrade to balcony. I checked my reservation today ( we are 65 days out ), we were moved to an oceanview with porthole window. I don't care where I am as long as I am on the ship, but wonder if once they accept your upgrade if they might still move it or if that is your cabin? Just wonder what other people have experienced. I actually like where the upgraded cabin is as it is midship near elevators instead of inside all the way forward. Just curious if anyone has been changed later.

  9. I have two Mexican Riviera cruises book next year on NCL. I loved NCL when I went last year. I found the buffet actually edible and I don't like buffets so that is a plus for me. On our 9 day March cruise we have two days in Cabo, also a plus for us. If you can find an NCL cruise that goes when you want I would recommend it especially since you have sailed with them before. Just my opinion. Have fun whatever you choose.

  10. This will be our fourth cruise and first 7 day cruise...also first balcony room...both sailings have good rooms available on the Empress deck...

The one cruise arrives in PV at 12 noon and departs the next day at 3 PM, then arrives in Cabo the next morning at 7:30 until 3:30 PM.

The other one is Cabo from 10 to 7, Mazatlán 8 to 5, and PV from 8 to 8.

The Mazatlán trip is 150.00 more.

I would choose the one with the longer port stop in Cabo, especially it it's Carnival as the tender process last month was disastrous. They were calling tender ticket numbers before all the priority passengers were able to catch a tender. Very disappointed at the way it was handled. They had many complaints. All that aside it was nice not to have to rush to get back to the ship. Had a great day at the beach at the Mango Deck.

  11. I am platinum on Carnival and it was a total cluster. They had all the Diamond, Platinum and FTTF people in a priority area and before we all got to the tenders they started calling for the people with tender tickets. There were people on our tender with tender # 4 and 7. Worst experience ever with tendering.
