Going on 106 days here. Was supposed to cruise May 11th, Royal cancelled March 24th. Received our refund the week we were due to be cruising and thought that was the end of it but it was $100 short.
We had paid $148.52 for the soda package and only got the $48.52 back. I have not, after 5 phone calls and 2 sets of Twitter messages since May 13th, received that $100.
I was told just over a month ago that my case was closed, sent to accounting and I’d have it in 30 days. Obviously that hasn’t happened. The latest update I’ve received is that they basically lost my refund and are attempting to create a manual refund request and have it escalated. Not holding my breath.

Ship - Anthem
Deck - 11
Stateroom # - 502
Stateroom Category – Large Oceanview
Starboard or Port Side - Neither. Forward facing.
Quiet Stateroom? – Yes. The only sounds you could hear were toilets flushing in neighboring cabins. You couldn’t hear anyone doing their business, just when they were done. No noise from bridge directly above or Adventure Ocean nearby.
Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.
Balcony View - No balcony but the cabin is at the front of the ship so you get to see everything forward. The bridge is directly above but only slightly affects the view at the very top of the window.
Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A
Was wind a problem? - Not at all. I’ve stayed in several forward facing cabins and felt the least movement of all of them.
If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A
Any specific problems with this cabin? - Just the aforementioned flushing noises.
Any other comments? - Amount of storage was fantastic. The extra space by the window was great for storing luggage and the extra easy chair to look outside was wonderful.

Thoroughly enjoyed the review - thanks! Looking forward to sailing on Grandeur in the hopefully not-too-distant future.

Stayed in 10102 a few years ago. Absolutely loved it. You have a large window and a lot of open space. We used it for storing suitcases and shoes.
I put some pics here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=40859883&postcount=17

Hi All,
I am on the Bermuda Cruise on the Granduer of the Seas in September and was wondering for those of you who may have done this cruise, did any of you purchase the horse carriage ride from the ship? Was it a 4 person horse buggy or one like the trolley train.
Thanks.
We did the historic Hamilton buggy tour through the ship. Ours was a 4 person but I can't remember the layout. I think we were back to back (as in we faced forwards and the other couple faced backwards).

Just waiting for my fiance to sign off but looks like we can save $400 on the Alaska cruise we were forced to push back to next year :D

We are booked in one of those on the Allure May 18th. I am a little worried about being in the front of the boat in regards to motion. Anyone have any experience staying in one of these rooms? There aren't too many cabins left to choose from and I am having a hard time justifying spending $500 or more on an upgrade. I would much rather spend that money on drinks and/or excursions

I stayed in one on Oasis last year. I didn't feel any more motion than elsewhere on the ship. You will hear the thrusters when docking but it doesn't last long.

I posted two pics from my cabin here:

It's a huge window. Bigger than that Freedom pic. We used the extra space to store luggage and line our shoes up. Wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

Does anyone know on the coke freestyle machines what the flavors of Dasani waters are? Also where are the machines located on the Oasis?
Thanks!!
Bev
2 on the Promenade, 2 in the Windjammer, 1 in the arcade.

Truthfully, we opted for Oasis over Allure because it was cheaper for the week we wanted (the Saturday departure didn't hurt either). The few other differences weren't enough to sway us one way or the other.
-
Prices are comparable to any Coach factory store in the US. Sales are the same - it just depends what the deal is the day you go there.
-
There isn't one in Wipeout on Oasis. It's in the arcade.
-
RE: Question 3 - It's only 12 miles from Secaucus to the port. Don't know where you got 30 from.

We got medals for winning sports trivia once.

The Japanese Collins was my favorite drink discovery last year.

They'll know when the planes come in. Most flights arrive between 12PM and 3PM and they're pretty frequent during that time.
-
The ones I can recall are:
- 2 by Sorrento's
- 1 (or is it 2) on each side of Windjammer
- 1 in the Wipeout Cafe
Are there any others that people know of?
On Oasis, there's one in the arcade.
- 2 by Sorrento's

Neat photo of Maho Beach
There is also another bar at the other end . . . Driftwood Boat Bar and Grill
There's also the Tortuga Beach Cafe just past Driftwood. Both are far less crowded than Sunset. That end of the beach is far less crowded in general. We ate at Tortuga's the last time we were at Maho and they were happy to let us hang out there for several hours.
Just make sure however you get to Maho, you leave plenty of time to get back to the docks. There was a fire near the airport the last time we were there and we made it back by the skin of our teeth after having to take a long detour back.

It's a more family friendly version held in the main theater.
-
Also take the Central Park tour if they offer it (usually a sea day later in the week). They have 3 rotating staff horticulturalists who know a ton about the ship.
-
Just to note - the items that do go up for sale are NOT the items in the store the rest of the time so don't fall in love with something and expect it to be cheaper later.

A Japanese Collins in the Schooner Bar.
(It's Midori, vodka, sweet and sour and Sprite.)

I believe the Coach bag sale are different stock than what is usually in the Coach store the rest of the week. They will have a sale with different stock - not the regularly prices bags that the OP's wife is probably eyeing. :)
That's true. If you want to save a few bucks, have her wait until the sale but if her heart is set on that bag, might as well get it now and avoid the rush.

Definitely echo the sentiment that you need more clothes. I go with a one piece and board shorts. A rash guard wouldn't hurt either.
And yes there is a common courtesy followed. If you wipe out quickly and there's a line, you get out. If it's quieter, most people are happy to let you get back on.
Are we the only one who hasn't received refund?

Good to know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. We’ve been in a very similar situation - supposed to cruise May 11th, cruise cancelled by Royal on March 24th and got our refund (except $100) on May 13th. Been trying to get the $100 back ever since and last I was told, Royal has basically lost our refund and they had to create a manual replacement refund request.
