  1. Because of my job and the need to drive sober when at home I seldom drink much. On a cruise I can walk to my cabin and no one ever asks me to steer the ship. So you might say I go overboard...almost literally.

A typical day starts with a cappuccino or two. By 11 it's a bloody Mary. With lunch a Margarita or a beer. Around 4:30 ,it's 2 or 3 martinis. With dinner at six, three glasses of wine and a specialty coffee with dessert as well as a sparkling water throughout.

Then it's on to the casino for a cognac or jack and coke. At the show maybe a vodka and tonic or a cordial. Following that it's to the disco or karaoke and some specialty rum drinks.

Finally an espresso at cafe baccio and a water for the room at night. On beach days we also take liter bottles of water to the beach. I kept track for a while and see that it would have cost me130 to 150 per day before tip.

At the discount rate of $49/day I figure I'm way ahead until I have to pay for the liver transplant.

LOL! My wife and I are going to book a 2014 Med Cruise and its a no brainer for us. I just hope we can get a 123 deal or similar offer from the TA. Here's a typical vacation day for me (vegas, Europe, it doesn't matter)

    6-9 a.m 4-7 cups of coffee--I'm wired

8-9 am 1-2 Bloody Marys--to take the edge off the coffee

one or two bottles of water to keep me hydrated

9am-6pm beer in hand--It gets hot (trust me its more than a few)

one or two bottles of water

Dinner 3-4 glasses of wine--so I can feel classy

After dinner....Beer or if I'm feeling frisky an after dinner drink such as a glass or three of Scotch or Limoncello!

Repeat it all over again the next day

My wife is similar but she likes more of the fancy frozen drinks.

  2. As a relative newbie, I appreciate photos of the trips and ships...mostly ships. It is very useful to have them all in one spot here on the Celebrity thread. The other picture area on the CC forum is not user friendly. I like this post and hope that Librarylady will do the same for Reflection (hint..hint). Maybe others will add their pictures to the threads also. So a big thank you from me!

  3. If this is your first visit to Italy, I think it is worth your time and money to spend a few extra days in either or both Rome and Venice. Visited Venice and Rome in 2011 and we are returning to Italy for a two week land cruise this August (Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi and Rome) . No experience with Celebrity's land tours but if that doesn't work do it yourself. You'll be glad you did.
