So they owe you the difference in price from the moved cruise?

Our friends completely cancelled (they did lose the cost of the insurance) which I told them they should do a FCC but they seem to be of the mind that their traveling days are over.

We completely cancelled. They had moved us from a 12 day cruise to a seven day, leaving on a different day going to different ports. Who does that? And failed to notify us or offer any help. So we want complete refund booked a Royal Caribbean cruise instead.

Our friends were supposed to come on Divina with us in November  but they’re older (late 70’s) and nervous about Covid so they cancelled and had their money back in 5 days.
MSC has gotten better with refunds now.

I cancelled my Mediterranean cruise that they actually cancelled and moved my money to a 7 day. I was told it will take 90 days.....its been about 30 no refund yet!

    We were  on same cruise.

The only reason we knew something had changed was our RollCall.

We had YC Executive Suite for the 12 night. Now, 7 night, usual Mediterranean circuit. Our cabin listed as guaranteed.

No notice from MSC or TA.  Our contract is for thousands more than YC

    Deluxe Suites .
We will deal with this one later….hoping for better itineraries to post next year.

we are more concerned that our cruises will sail this fall.

We had a really great price on the 12 night still significantly higher then the 7 day they stuck us on.  MSC never contacted us and when I called them to inquire as to what was going on I was basically told it is what it is. Keep it or cancel & rebook. So I found a great deal on a suite with another cruise line so I cancelled and rebook. I believe as covid wains and people get back to cruising we will see a large jump in cruise pricing. They need to off set the 25% extra on FCC’s and make some money. So I didn't want to wait to see what happens. Both my fall cruise still look good! Divine Yacht club in 20 days but whose counting!!! 😊

With respect to waiting a month or more to tell customers about changes, I had a recent cruise that was cancelled in October 2020.  But they assured me and those others booked that it wasn't cancelled at all.  Then, they said we'd be automatically moved into new, similar sailing at no extra charge.  Finally, in June 2021, 9 months later, they admitted that it had been cancelled last October.

Contrast that to Celebrity.  They cancelled an upcoming sailing.  Put me into a longer cruise (1 day longer) on a better ship, same cabin number, with a better itinerary.  This all occurred seamlessly.  They told me about the change and said to contact them if there were any concerns.  No need to contact them, as it was a definite step up from what I had.  Pricing didn't change either.

We had same thing. Had 12 night booked for Mediterranean for next year. They cancelled one we were on and moved us to a qty cabin on a 7 night cruise which was about $900 cheaper they had not corrected price or even bothered to contact us to let us know. I contacted then after a month they pretty much said Oh well, cancel rebook on another ship (at new higher rates) or kept what we gave you. I was someone taken back by the poor handling of the situation. But I did as they suggested I cancelled and rebooked a Royal Caribbean ship.

  5. Check in at tent. They will have you on a list and fix your tags. Can I ask what the minimum bid for yacht club was. We have a YC Interior booked on Meraviglia and and hoped to bid on YC Deluxe but the minuim was high only saved us $200 if we just booked deluxe to begin witv. Didn't feel it was a good deal so we passed

From some web research, I'm pretty sure:

    Vodka: Smirnoff

    Bourbon: Jim Beam

    Whiskey: Seagram's 7

    Scotch: Jonnie Walker Red

    Gin: Gordon's

    Tequila:  Maybe not available

After looking at this list, I will be upgrading my Easy package to Premium.

These are what they were pre-covid.

  7. I looked this Salsa cruise up and it’s been planned for awhile. So shame on MSC for waiting till a month before to tell guests booked outside of the group. Looks like you can only book balcony and below category so they must have booked all yacht club rooms. So MSC has been double booking! The rate for balcony is $1900 a person!!! If I were on that cruise I’d be canceling. https://salsacruise.rezmagic.com/Booking/Reservation/Start?tripID=5073

.  When we got back to the room after dinner on our anniversary, a surprise bottle of chilled champagne awaited and the entire room was decorated, including a mini laser light show that had the room illuminated with thousands of rotating sparkling lights. Al

Oh I love this!!! We are taking our first yacht club cruise October 17 to celebrate our 25th wedding Anniversary. We really wanted to make it special especially after the last couple years. Looks like it’s going to be! Like sponges we have been reading and watching videos about the yacht club and have already decided only way we will cruise. We have a 3 other cruises booked with MSC which we have already called and upgraded to yacht club! Can’t wait!

  9. We are booked on October 17th cruise there is Facebook cruise for that sailing. I believe ship is far from full. Lots of people complaining because they were booked in certain cabins that they had selected and are now being moved to cabins they feel are less desirable. Several people even cancelled because of it. The explanation from MSC has been they are keeping certain areas of the ship empty in case the need to quarantine people occurs.

As far as a Salsa cruise…..forget it! I love salsa and love to watch it. But we inadvertently booked a cruise once that ended up having a super large square dance group. Fun to watch the first day but got annoying because everywhere you went they took over dance floors.  Crew, cruise director made trip all about the SD group, rest of us were lunch meat. Often venues would be closed to us regular slubs for private Square Dance events. We now  avoid cruises that have any kind of large groups.

  10. We have Divina in October and Meraviglia in November booked. We received email to bid for both right after final payment. October we didn’t bid on because we have Yacht club balcony and none of upgrades even showed available.

We only have interior yacht club on Meraviglia so we were excited to get the offer and wanted to bid.  The  minimum bid was to high for us @$765 a person. If we bid minimum plus what we already paid we were only saving $200 total for cabin. Really didn’t feel that was a good deal. So we will stick with our inside and are just happy to be cruising!

    Same with us.

Not sure what they are actually doing.  We have booked Executive YC Suite for 12 nights - Oct 2022.  Now shows Seaview 7 night with “old” itinerary which we have already done.

Not touching this one yet. Waiting to see if they come up with another extended (10-14 day) cruise.
What they have now (excluding RS) in yacht club is thousands less.

I called MSC finally and was told the original cruise is cancelled and we were moved to Seaview that I should have gotten an email. Which I did not receive. I could either cancel or move to another cruise paying whatever the going rate is currently. I’m not sure why I was moved to a 7 day cruise and not a similar cruise of 11 days. The 11 day cruise are now more expensive then what we booked for last February. I was pretty much told oh well, too bad cancel or rebook if you don’t like it.  So I cancelled and rebooked an 8 day Mediterranean cruise on Royal Carribean.

This thread contains many references to changes that MSC has made to different cruises without providing any kind of notification to the passengers on the affected sailings.

Our 12 night on Splendida in October 2022 is now a 7 night on a different ship, different date and different itinerary. We have received NO notification from MSC as to what is going on. I see other similar  itineraries to our original  out of Barcelona that are 11 night cruises not sure why we were not put on a 7 night at same price we paid for 12 and not one of the other ones. We booked awhile ago prices have gone up and cabin choices are slimmer. I contacted MSC by email to see what is going on have received no response. I’ll wait and see what the final word is but if it remains the 7 day I will cancel.

My Oct 2022 14 night sailing has been complete reconfigured to be a 7 night Italy/France exclusive on the Splendida... something funny appears to be afoot.

Our 12 night Splendida in Oct 2022 was also changed to a 7 night on Seaview guarantee cabin. Doesn't go to Casablanca or Rome. Most annoying if I were to book 7 night cruise in same cabin that I had on Splendida it's $700 cheaper!  Not happy just loved the original itinerary. Ugh

    MSC UpGrade FAQs

    Q. Can I choose the location or specific features of the MSC UpGrade upgrade cabin?
    A. No, your cabin location and attributes will depend on availability. MSC cannot guarantee a specific cabin number assignment within the upgraded category.

I bid the minimum for an upgrade . YC Interior to a YC Deluxe Balcony. $720..we will see

$720 per person? Is that a 7 day cruise?

I am on the 10/23 sailing and we have 49 YC deluxe cabins open. I have one of the 15 inside YC cabins. My minimum bid will get me to a deluxe for over $2000 cheaper than those who actually booked a deluxe.

I already got the bid email last week.

    Steve

We have inside booked in Yacht club for November. What did they start the bidding at for you to go to Deluxe Balcony in YC?  Did you bid and do you do minimum? Let us know if you get it!!!
