    Regatta's Got Talent!

    Although Oceania is not known for it's entertainment, we have been pleasantly surprised. We are currently onboard the Regatta and last night's performance of 'Good Lovin' by the Regatta Singers and Dancers was terrific! These kids sang and danced 60's and 70's classic hits with energy and talent. The Orchestra was also fantastic! I think I had a smile on my face for 45 minutes! Can't wait for their next production!

    Casino on Regata

    I tried a search but was unable to find an answer for DH's question: when the Regatta cruises in Alaska- is the casino open? I'm not the gambler [emoji4] but DH enjoys it in the evening.

    Here is an excellent article that was recently published in the NYT about staying well while traveling

    One suggestion is taking peptobismal before every meal. Granted, it probably would not protect against Noro but might help ward off a gastro illness. I intend to give this a try on my upcoming Oceania cruise. It at least can't hurt [emoji57]

    Cancelling a shore excursion and rescheduling

    I currently have my "free" shore excursions scheduled. I'd like to cancel one and add a different excursion. When I attempt this on the Oceania website, I get as far as adding it to the cart. However, going to check out, it says my cart is empty! Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

    I'm so enjoying your writings! Never had a thought to go to Africa but after reading your wonderful adventures, it's now on my 'list'! Hope your trip to India is awesome! Already I'm looking forward to reading about it. Thanks so much for taking us all along on your journey!

    Super Bowl Broadcast?

    When we were on the TA cruise in April, they did broadcast the NCAA Basketball final on the tv in our cabins. It was an ungodly hour and poor reception but we didn't care- at least we could hear it [emoji5]️. Maybe they will do the same with the Super Bowl!

    Fellow cruise critics,

    I have a question regarding taking the included air when booking. I booked in July for Alaska on the Regatta in May. I thought that I would not find out about flights until after final payment.

     

    I referred friends for this same cruise. They booked with my travel agent on December 31- to get the OLife benefits. And they got an email this weekend with flight details and need to respond to accept or decline.

     

    I'm confused 🙃

     

    Anyone have a clue as to why these bookings are so different?

    Transatlantic Weather

    We did the Miami to Barcelona in April last year. We had one perfect day in Bermuda with a blustery rainy day that followed. Madeira was beautiful but Gibralter was cool and overcast. I didn't find the seas too rough at all. One thing though- it was cool enough that we didn't use the veranda and probably would have been just as happy with an inside or ocean view cabin. Overall we found this a great way to enjoy the Riviera experience.

    Changing a current reservation

    I'm hoping someone will know the answer to this question:

    On our Oceania cruise this past spring, we put a deposit down for a future cruise in 2016. We understood that we could make one change. Well, later this summer we changed to a different cruise- still in 2016.

     

    After further thought, we'd like to change cruises again. What is the penalty for making an additional change to the original?

     

    Yes, I realize I have a difficult time making up my mind![emoji16]

    Alaska Cruise on the Oceania Regatta

    I'm really happy to read the positive comments about cruising Alaska on the Regatta! We are scheduled to take a Regatta Alaskan cruise in May of 2016. I was wondering if the somewhat higher costs of Oceania over the mass cruise lines would be worth it- sounds like it will and should be an amazing experience!

    I know there are lots of you that have done many cruises on Oceania. We are trying to decide on a 2016 cruise and I see that many already have wait lists. I'd love to hear what some of your favorite itineraries have been because we just can't decide!
