  1. We did a 7 day cruise, inside passage round trip from Vancouver. Overall it was a wonderful cruise. The staff were wonderful. The ship is in very good shape and is easy to navigate. Food was a mixed bag- MDR was good but not great. The lunch in MDR is understaffed but better at dinner. Pinnacle Grill dinner was superb but slow. The Lido was much better than most buffets. The cruise director,Gage, was below par. Guest services were great. The three ports were Juneau( not impressed), Sitka (wonderful) and Ketchikan ( nice). There wasn’t much entertainment. The comedian was very good but on 3 nights the main showroom was dark.
We will book HAL again and want to on a ship no larger than NA.

ps- I hope Julia approves of this post🤣

  2. I agree with the comments. To me, food is not the primary reason we cruise. I don’t expect five star food when you are serving that many people. That said, the last time we cruised on Celebrity the food was well below par so we won’t be cruising with them.

  3. We have a deck 10 veranda cabin on an upcoming Alaska N.A. 7 day cruise. I received upgrade offers for Neptune and Signature Suites. Neptune was too expensive and Signature basically is just a larger space. We are going to stay in the one we already have. Anyone think we should upgrade. We are not in our cabin except to sleep. Thoughts?  TIA.

  4. We are on a 7 day Alaska cruise in July. We will see how it goes. If it is good, as I believe it will be, I think the price HAL charges is much more reasonable that the high end cruise lines. And they seem to have very good service and good itineraries. So if all goes well, we will book HAL again. Thoughts?

HAL can begin processing new passengers as soon as all of the ship's passengers have disembarked and confirmed by local authorities.  My experience is that the hallway of the Convention Center begins filling with passengers a bit after 10:00 AM with the HAL entrance opened for in-processing as soon as the local authorities allow (before 11:00 AM).

Of course, luggage may be dropped off at the cruise terminal downstairs from the Convention Center around 10:00 AM before walking back upstairs to the Convention Center for HAL check-in processing.
