  1. We just upgraded from an ocean view to a veranda on deck 10. Not many staterooms on that deck but heard the views are great. Not worried about motion as we don’t get sea sick. Anyone have experience with staying on the panorama (10) deck? Thanks

  2. We are sailing soon on NA. The last cruise we took was on Celebrity. Reading reviews before the cruise there were a lot of complaints about food quality. When we cruised, the MDR food was average to bad so the reviews were correct. Now, the reviews on HAL are mixed but mostly negative on quality of food. Should we be worried? TIA

Alaska in early May will not be busy at all. Alaskan cruise already don’t feel as crowded and busy as warm weather cruises. HAL is also not a party ship and Alaska is a far more laid back cruise. Most people are on their balconies, lounging in the spa, enjoying the crows nest. And being earlier in the season and during the school year helps reduce the chaos as well.

i think you will find it beautiful, peaceful and calm. Which ship will you be on? I’m doing my third Alaskan cruise with HAL this June. Previously went in mid May and once late April.

Correction: the Club Orange RESTAURANT is only available on Pinnacle ships. The program with varied benefits is fleet-wide.

Thanks. We have a F category ocean view on NA. As far as I can tell, there are not many of them and they are on main deck next to the theater. So Club Orange probably would not offer an upgrade to a better stateroom since there are only a few F staterooms.

  5. I have been on two Celebrity cruises. Both times the venues sometimes seemed crowded. I have been on two HAL cruises but not in several years but I believe they didn’t ever seem crowded. We are going to Alaska in early May. TIA for any opinions.

A very respected CC member said they were told by the retreat manager in early 2023 that X changed to a cheaper beef supplier which is utilized for all restaurants except for specialties

We just completed an 8 day cruise on Equinox. The food quality across the board with the exception of TG was average or below. Service in MDR was average and hurried. Food in OVC was good at breakfast but lunch and dinner was average to horrible. I don’t think we will book X again. Just my opinion. Others may feel differently.

  7. Just finished 8 days on the Equinox. I liked the ship but it needs an update. New chairs, etc. Crew was great and service was great. There are very few free activities available during the day. Entertainment at night good, not great. My main complaint is food. MDR breakfast ok but evening meal choices and quality was not good. The buffet was not crowded and a lot of choices but average to below taste. Celebrity needs to ramp up food quality or I fear cruisers will go elsewhere.
