We also got off the sunshine on March 12th. We were in room 2271.
1) Yes, they handed us our S&S cards at check-in
2) Our room did not require a gift card/credit card to keep lights on
3) No charging ports - same set up as prior poster
4) No refrigerator in our room - there is a list floating out there somewhere that lists what decks have refrigerators in the room
5) No, you can request to sit alone in the MDR - we did every day and always got a table for 2. On the last sea day, they were asking if people wanted to sit together with people they didn't know or alone and there was a small (like 5 minutes) wait if you didn't want to join others.
Have fun!! We loved our time on her.

We were on the Sunshine July 2015 (the kid and I) and my husband and I will be on the Sunshine March 4th. Aruba has been on my list forever and since we aren't taking the kid this time, I wanted that extra sea day to lounge and do nothing.
We never thought the Sunshine was crowded when we were on it last year. We always found seats by the main pool and getting on and off the boat was super simple too.

So can we FaceTime on the $60 plan?

Can I use FaceTime with the $25 package?

Good evening :)
My son (10) and I (mom) will be on the Sunshine by ourselves in July. Two years ago on RCL we went to the Sheraton, but it was 6 of us, with 4 adults and 2 children, and we had a lot of fun and loved the beach.
I would like to take my son back there, but again, it's just us this time. Are we safe going by ourselves? Our roll call is pretty inactive too, so I don't know what others plans are.
Thanks!

In our experience last August, at least 1 pool was open until 12am.

The cruise we're looking at only shows TBA. What usually happens with that?

We were on the breeze In August. We had cheers and son had soft drinks. We were limited on where we could eat due to son having Celiac, so we got to know bar servers quite well, and that could have played a part in it, but he never had a problem getting a drink.

Dumb question: Matt is no longer the CD on Breeze?

We were on the Breeze 3 weeks ago. My son has Celiac (so has to be gluten free or gets very, very sick). They were wonderful. We talked to the assistant head waiter right after boarding (Natasa) and she made sure we were taken care of the entire cruise.
Having said that, did you try the Italian restaurant? Lunch was free every day there. My son couldn't eat safely at the buffet so we had 4 of our 6 lunches there.
I guess we have lower standards because I can't think of one thing we didn't like.

With the Cheers package, they would not give us the can, they just poured it into a cup with ice. It was really weird. Our son didn't have a drink package and they always gave him the full can with the cup of ice.

Just off the Breeze last Saturday. No fountain soda if you're on Cheers. Always came from a can. I hate canned sodas so had 1 the entire cruise.
No iPod Dock in our suite. And our room attendant offered to empty our refrigerator if we wanted (we declined). Have fun! I already miss it!

Just wanted to say hi from a Breeze cruiser who was next to your ship in Cozumel. You definitely were on the "party" boat of the 2, as I enjoyed your DJs show right outside my balcony for the hour prior to leaving!

We did it for a week recently. Worked out because prices went up.

Thanks, everyone. We had not purchased FTTF yet, was holding off for that. My DH decided we were upgrading. It's his 40th birthday, our 11th anniversary and our son's 10 birthday, so he said we're upgrading. I said okay :)

DH, DS (9) and myself are sailing on the Breeze on 8/24. Got a call today, offering us a (paid) upgrade.
We are currently in an aft extended balcony on deck 7.
First offer was the grand suite, deck 7, for $690 more.
Second offer is ocean suite, deck 7, for $450 more.
We would not be using FTTF if we chose one of these options, so $150 saved.
Is it worth it? Would you do it?
What else do we get as a suite guest, other than priority boarding?
This is our first Carnival cruise, if that matters.
Thanks in advance :)

Yay! Can't wait to read the rest. We leave on 8/24 on this same iteneriary. Thank you for posting it :)

When my husband brought up going on Carnival, I turned my nose up at him. We sailed RCCL Enchantment of the Seas last August and liked it, so wasn't really sure I wanted to do Carnival. I immediately came back to CC and found your review and told him, we're going. 43 days til we sail.
Thank you for your detailed report. I looked at every picture, read every word and watched every video. you rock!!
I am sorry about your grandmother :(

I am a celiac and went on breeze last year and go again this year. Its the best! Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I know this thread is 3 months old, but could I pick your brain about some of the non-MDR gluten free options on Breeze? I tried PM'ing you, but it appears I don't have the ability to do so.

Thank you! All that's available is Deck 7 and Deck 9. Don't want too much shade as I like sitting on my balcony getting sun. I appreciate your feedback :)

Bumping for the night crew :)

There is a $1400 price difference; is it worth it? There are 3 of us: husband, me and 9 year old DS. We cruised in a RCCL junior suite aft balcony last year if that helps.
Thanks!

Deb- thank you so much! We are only 2 months into his diagnosis and I feel so much better hearing first hand how things were handled. It sounds like he will be in heaven lol. And yes we will bring tons of snacks for him :). Thank you again!

Has anyone used the HUB texting feature on Sunshine recently?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
We were on Sunshine 3/4 through 3/12. In order for the chat feature to work, the HUB app has to remain open on your phone at all times. As a serial window closer, this bugged me. And if it wasn't open, the messages wouldn't come through - it's not like they were waiting for you when you did open it.
Also, the internet package sucked this trip. The only times it worked were at 4am and when we were in ports and the boat was nearly empty. The wifi strength on Sunshine does not support 5000+ people (passengers and crew) :(
