  1. Hi all! We are sailing on the Indy next month... returning to RCCL after sailing quite a few years with Carnival. We have gotten used to the ultra lax (non-existent) dress code on Carnival... My husband is now used to wearing nice jeans/t-shirt to dinner and I'm trying to see if that flys on Royal. Does he need a collared shirt on casual nights? It's a 4 Day Western and we are flying so trying to pack carry on only... Thanks in advance!

  2. Hello! I will be sailing on the Sunrise on 5/27/19 - getting off as you are getting on 6/10/19! We booked this cruise on Black Friday and Early/Late Seating were both waiting list only at that time... We are Gold on Carnival after this cruise will be Platinum so IDK if loyalty helps us clear the list faster but by the first week of December we got the email with our desired seating. What level of membership are you?

  3. Hi All,

We will be traveling to Half Moon Cay for the first time on the Carnival Sunrise in May...

Has anyone been there recently know if they still offer a drink package for $25 (15 drinks) as stated below on cruise critic?

Also, wanted to know about the HAL kids club and does it apply to Carnival sailings? Is that secure kids programming similar to  Disney's on Castaway Cay?

    Good to Know

You'll pay extra for alcohol, even if you have an unlimited package booked on your ship. A Half Moon Cay package is available for about $25 that gets you 15 drinks for your day on shore. Passengers can rent private air-conditioned cabanas or two-story beach villas if they want to escape the crowds, but these can book quickly as there might be other ships in port at the same time. Many expenses -- such as drinks, activities and souvenirs at the line's island shop -- can be put on passengers' onboard accounts. However, for purchases at the straw market, you'll need cash.

Also good to know for families with kids in tow, there is a Club HAL kids' club on the island, for parents who want to make sure their kiddos are enjoying some supervised time on shore, while they lounge one-on-one (or visit the massage cabana).

  4. Hi All --

We will be on the 14 Day Sunrise (Triumph) to Panama from NYC this May... We are squeezing 4 into an interior on Deck 6 so I would like to bring along some heavy duty magnets to hang my shoe organizer etc... Are the walls and doors on the Triumph metal? Also, do they allow Command Strips on Interior Walls or only on the doors for door decorations? Thanks!!!

  5. Hi  -- My husband and I are considering a 14 Day Panama Cruise from NYC on Carnival Sunrise May 2019. He is concerned about being bored on the ship that long -- Do they have different shows -- he thinks the will repeat the headline shows... ? Also, will they change up dining menus or repeat? How many formal nights?

  6. Hi -- we are not new to Carnival but it is our first time cruising Carnival with our girls (ages 6 & 8). We took them on DCL last year and it was FABULOUS so I hope our upcoming trip on the Horizon lives up to their standards! ;) We are planning on doing the 8:15pm dinner seating ... Just wondering do they give out crayons & a coloring sheet to keep the kids busy until their food arrives? I am debating on whether to bring my own activity book for them... We really enjoyed Disney's dine & play program where the counselors would take the kids to the kids club around 9 after they ate so the adults could enjoy a leisurely dinner.

  7. Hello All,

My Husband and I are considering a back to back cruise July 5 & 8 2019 on the Mariner of the Seas. We have never done a B2B before... Can someone explain Royals policy on how the "reembarkation" works? If we can get the same stateroom I imagine we won't have to move our belongings?

    Thanks!

  8. You have plenty of time still just keep checking online every few days under my cruise details and click on the change dining and see if it opens up. We just booked our cruise at the end of January for the July 3rd sailing on the Horizon and had almost the same situation with 4 cabins (we too wanted to dine together). We wanted late dining... we originally booked 2 cabins for my husband, myself and 2 children. Another week later, another couple and my parents decided to book and there was no availability on the wait list for anything except MTD. We were waitlisted for late dining -- about 2 weeks later we got an email that they had availability for late dining and that 2 of 4 cabins were switched. I kept checking and 1 slot opened for early dining so 1 cabin grabbed it. Then I was able to get my parents waitlisted for early dining then finally on late seating. By checking like every other day I was able to get all of us on the late seating. As it is getting closer to final payment people might be changing their plans and you will probably see more availability. If all else fails, head right to the maître'd when you board and they should help you.
