  1. Not sure how Carnival will handle but we did the unlimited photo package on Disney. Me and my Mother in Law were in one cabin (on paper) and my husband, father in law, and 2 daughters were in the other cabin. We purchased the package under my husbands cabin. All pictures were included as long as one person from that cabin was in the picture so I could take pictures with my husband and/or children but me and mother in law could not get solo pictures included. This worked out great for us and we probably got around 300 pictures... It was a great value.

  2. We were recently on Disney and you can download their app free and text friends and family on board. I really liked that the Kids Club would text you if your child wanted to leave... it only happened once during our 7 day cruise but it gave me piece of mind. We will be sailing on the Horizon on 7/3/18... Does Camp Ocean text you if you download the Hub app ?

  3. Hi all,

I have a question... we have sailed on Carnival out of NYC a few years ago when CHEERS was first introduced and until we got out to sea we had to pay tax on the drinks but they were still covered under the program and we were able to activate the card. We just booked the Carnival Horizon for July 2018 and I see that the policy now says you cant use CHEERS til Day 2? Can someone who has recently sailed out of NYC clarify how this works?

  4. We have 2 girls (ages 5 & 7) and we are also traveling with Grandma & Grandpa. We are looking for a "free" beach in Cozumel not too far from the pier. We have been to Nachi before and loved it. We were thinking about paying for Playa Mia since its more family friendly but kind of want to wing it when we get to Mexico. Is Paradise beach the best low cost option or should we just suck it up and pay for Playa Mia or is there another good "free" beach?

  5. Hopefully someone can answer my question about the FL resident discount...

My family is booked on a 7-night western Caribbean on the Fantasy September 16, 2017. This is our first time on Disney but we have cruised Carnival, Royal, and NCL 10+ times. We are from NYC but my in-laws now live in FL and they will be traveling with us so we booked a 9A and 9D connecting ocean view staterooms... my husband, F.I.L., and the 2 kids in the 9D and my M.I.L. and I in the 9A. We were told as long as there was one Florida resident in each room if a discount becomes available we would qualify. I realize there’s no telling if a FL discount will be available on our particular cruise but we are taking a chance and hoping since in the past it has been frequently offered in September and that we will get lucky! Just to have a ballpark idea I have been monitoring this September 2016’s resident discount offers and I have noticed the discounts are primarily for verandah rooms. My question is if this is the same case for our cruise next year and they are only offering resident discounts on verandah rooms… will Disney let us switch to verandah rooms using the FL resident discount even after the final payment has been made or is that subject to the cancellation fee? We are looking for the best rate we don’t care about room locations we would take a guarantee room.

In my experience with Carnival – we have switched rooms in the past after final payment was made as long as it was a better cabin and just paid the difference (the rule we followed is you can always “upgrade” but they won’t let you “downgrade”).

    Thanks! :)

  6. We are looking to go on the Fantasy 4/2017.... probably during a Star Wars Day week. I see on DCL there's "a deck party featuring Star Wars Characters, music, dancing and fireworks"... does this replace the pirate night deck party? or is it an additional deck party? As much as I like Star Wars.... this is our first Disney cruise (first cruise ever for my girls ages 5, 6) so we want to experience pirate night if possible. Thanks!

  7. Maybe the BOGO night for Chops is different than 150. I'd be curious if anyone knew the answer.

Bummer, it looks like there aren't any available hibachi reservations available for my sailing. I'll still check onboard, but now wondering, are there any others you feel would be family friendly but still worth the price of the food? Other option would just be to put the 6 yr old in kids club, but I like keeping my daughters taste palate a little eclectic and enjoy introducing her to new dining opportunities, when it's the appropriate atmosphere.

I am sailing on 4/25/15 and I was having the same problem they also kept taking it on and off the cruise planner to book. I was told by RCCL customer service that seating for the Hibachi experience is so limited it will only be available to reserve on board... so I would check first thing when you get on the ship.

  8. Not sure on rum and coke but it seemed like all frozen drinks were $12, $14.16 after tip, highway robbery IMO but with those prices they are encouraging the drink package which I think was $49 or $55 a day.

We are doing the premium drink package any idea of the price of Patron Margaritas/Shots? We have heard mixed reviews of Patron included in the drink package.
