  1. Glad to hear that it went so well. Did you email it in or send it by mail? I emailed mine in on Saturday and got a reply that they received it and I would hear something within 1 business day. Still nothing. I know that it is only a day and a half.

I used email. I heard back from the early on the morning of the 2nd day requesting I resubmit the form with the confirmation#. I resubmitted late on day 2 and had the OBC by middle of 3rd day.

  2. Have to say redeeming the Shareholder OBC was one of the smoothest transactions I've had with NCL. Even with a mistake by me(forget res# on the request for) I had the OBC added to my account within 72 hours. Also after reading conflicting reports I was able to get the $100 OBC even though I am traveling solo in a studio. Well done NCL

  3. There's an separate waiting area for platinum and above. Just go upstairs, don't get a group number, and walk through the waiting area, by the restrooms. Show whoever is guarding that area your key card. They'll call you after the Haven, special needs, and weddings, before starting general boarding. Last Escape cruise (We don't get Vibe passes), we were getting dinner reservations outside Le Bistro before the Vibe line even started.

    👍👍

  4. If you're Platinum, there's no need for a boarding group number. As long as you get there before boarding begins, you should have no problem getting a Vibe pass. However, it's best to hang out close to where the boarding will begin, because when they announce that "boarding will begin soon" hoards of "bording group" passengers will descend upon the embarkation area. If you're in the Platinum lounge, facing the ship, boarding will begin on the right side of the room (near the restrooms)

Thanks. So from what I gathered checkin doesn't really matter. They will board Haven, passengers needing assistance and then Platinum & Platinum+. I just need to pay attention to the announcements. I'm usually there early. Have never been higher than group 5 but after lucking into a Vibe Pass last year its a must get going forward

  5. Will be sailing out of Port Miami again but this will be my first cruise as platinum. Was wondering if any can explain how checkin would work as a Platinum member. My understanding is that there will a be a dedicated checkin area and that Platinum members are given the boarding group after Haven guests. Can anyone confirm this and possibly walk me through the process.

  6. Will be sailing on the Escape next week and might be interested in doing an onboard booking. I have 2 questions to see if it worth spending time there.

    1. I have 2 Future cruise certificates from previous sailings. Will I be able to able one to a booking that I do with the future cruise desk?

    2. Do they offer any additional perks or discounts when you do a future cruise booking? I'm looking to book a Getaway cruise in 2018 so would the offer the same perks as the current offers or would you get anything additional?

  7. All things being equal I would take the studio. Access to lounge is great. Love the snacks they put out in the morning and at night. I actually ended up with an Upgrade to balcony from my studio on my last cruise(Breakaway) and regretted it. Made me realize I would never pay for a balcony. Don't think I used it 2x the entire week.

  8. I am not a newbie to this site, but I am to booking and cruising with NCL. We are in the process of booking an interior room for next summer out of Southampton for a Norwegian Fjord cruise. I was also wondering how any price drops worked. So it sounds like if the price of our cruise drops, I can either ask for an upgrade to a higher category(Ov or higher depending on the price drop) or could I also get OBC for the difference??

They do not always offer an OBC and if they do it's only a partial amount.

  9. Don't like the craft beers but my buddy does. Think he was able to order almost every beer they offered. Think there was 3 or 4 over the price limit. Thing he didn't like was not being able to order the 5 or 6 beer samplings. He felt it was a waste if you didn't like a beer. Bartenders had attitude of pour it out and order something else.

  10. The Uptown Grill on Breakaway was a my favorite lunch spot until they turned it into a made to order burger shop/chopped salad bar. But while they had long waits there in October and didn't offer anything other then those 2 options at least they didn't charge. Can see that move as a precursor to switching MV type surcharge area.
