Thank you. Another tidbit to help save money. I love this site and it's fabulous members. The price is the same no matter whether you order a bottle via online, through Ship Services or once on the ship. And the prices you see online already include the 15% gratuity. There is one catch -- if you order a bottle once you get on the ship in a Florida port, you will be charged an extra tax. You have to wait until the ship -- I think -- is 10 miles out to sea to avoid the extra tax.

My retirement, from teaching, gift to me was an 11 day land/cruise tour with HAL to Alaska. First cruise and have been hooked ever since. Just booked a 21 day Panama Canal on my beloved Westerdam for March 2016. I hope you find your perfect cruise for retirement.
-
Is it the same price if ordered on the ship instead of ahead of time? First time ordering a bottle of Baileys for the cabin. We will just wait until we are on the ship and have the concierges get us a bottle. -
You need to ask HAL if they are going to pay for the insurance you paid for.
You are so right. If they cancel we should get every penny that was paid to go on this trip. Just not right. I'm not booked on this one, BTW, I just feel it is unfair to those of you who are.
-
If you purchase trip cancellation insurance and HAL cancels will the insurance reimburse the plane tickets?

I can't find pictures of this cabin on Halfacts. Can anyone help with pictures of their cruise in this cabin?
-
Does anyone know which credit cards give you extra OBC for using their cards to book a cruise?
-
I want to address the SBC you can get with an American Express card that a TA can get but a PCC cannot. How do we get that? Does the TA do it or do I?
-
The main reason I decided to stay with our TA is I'm in Eastern time zone and HAL is not. LOL 3 hrs. difference. I can call my TA when I think of something and do not need to figure out the time difference. She is also about 20 minutes away if I want to show her something I found.
-
Which AMX card do you need to have to get this extra SBC?Booking through HAL's PCC would mean $300 less in shipboard credit as the PCC's are not permitted to give us that American Express perk. -
Thank you Joanie.

After reading many boards and getting myself totally confused I've decided to go with our local TA. She has helped us with past cruises and I'm comfortable with her. Maybe the PCC would be able to do things faster but I feel our TA will watch out for us as well.
-
I've always used a local TA and have been happy, though not sure I got all the benefits available. What can a PCC do for me that my TA cannot? Thank you in advance for your advice.

I agree. Nothing should be removed the last night. I find it despicable that someone would do that. We, too, give extra for good service.
-
Same to you and yours.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. Thank you for all your help/comments this year. Hope you all have visions of Cruises in your head. :)

Mine was a gift to me at retirement. We went on a Cruise tour of Alaska for 8 days and then on the wonderful Zuiderdam for 3 days. Loved all of it. Have cruised every year since.

I, too, can not find the differences with SB, SC, et all. Would someone please explain for those of us not in the know.

What is ZPM?

Just curious......
What or who is the 'it' says?
The HAL website? Who is that number supposed to connect to? Customer Relations?
Thanks.
I got this off the HAL website. And, as I said, it says for Emergency contact to use those numbers.
-
You probably have the information but it says for emergency contact to use:
Business Hours: 206–281–3535
After Hours & Holidays: 1–888–361–8803
or: 206–301–5293

Well, based on this experience and the other thread about letting a dog run the ship I am seriously considering cancelling another HAL cruise. It seems they don't know what customer service is. I am so sorry you are having to put up with this horrible situation.
-
It sounds like the passenger is the real problem, not the dog...although pooping outside the designated area and barking would be annoying...but not the dog's fault. Since the poor dog is clearly NOT a service dog, she must have been bewildered by her surroundings and not sure what to do. How cruel to leave her stuck in a strange cabin while the owner goes around on shore excursions. She must have been terrified.
HAL might be better off just banning the WOMAN from future cruises based on HER behavior, and say nothing about the dog.
I totally agree!

My DH really didn't want to do the smaller ship.

How do you find out if groups are on your cruise?
