  1. Good morning. I like the days today. School nurses are so important, but unfortunately most schools today only have one in their whole district. I disagree with the quote. Waiting for Debbies recipe to decide on the meal. I've been have a rough time with allergies. Pollen has given me so much grief this year. Major prayers to our care list. Verper: The Vesper or Vesper Martini is a cocktail that was originally made of gin, vodka, and Kina Lillet. The formulations of its ingredients have changed since its original publication in print, and so some modern bartenders have created new versions which attempt to more closely mimic the original taste. Wikipedia Main alcohol: Gin Ingredients: 1/2 oz Vodka, 1/4 oz Lillet Blonde, 2 oz Gin Preparation: Shake over ice until well chilled, then strain into a deep goblet and garnish with a thin slice of lemon peel. Markers Mark Bourbon Spritz: Ingredients 1 part Maker's Mark® Bourbon 1 part Aperol® Aperitif ¾ part Lemon Juice Splash of Simple Syrup Splash of Prosecco Garnish: Orange Peel Instructions Fill a wine glass with ice and layer in Maker’s Mark®, Aperol®, lemon juice and syrup. Stir gently to combine. Top with prosecco and garnish with an orange peel.
  3. Double Razzamatazz Grape Martini: Ingredients 1 part DeKuyper® Pucker® Grape Schnapps 1 part DeKuyper® Razzmatazz® Schnapps Liqueur 1 part Pinnacle® Raspberry Vodka 1 part Lemon-Lime Soda Instructions Add ingredients to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass.

Laphroaig Penicillin: Ingredients 2 parts Auchentoshan® American Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky or Kilbeggan® Single Grain Irish Whiskey ¾ part Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice ¾ part Honey-Ginger Syrup* ¼ part Laphroaig® Select Garnish: Candied Ginger Instructions Combine the Auchentoshan® or Kilbeggan® with the honey-ginger syrup and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker and fill three-quarters full with ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass over fresh ice. Gently float the Laphroaig® on top of the cocktail. Garnish with candied ginger or a lemon twist. *Honey-Ginger Syrup: Combine 1 cup of honey, one 6-inch peeled and sliced piece of ginger root and 1 cup of water in a small pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Refrigerate overnight, then strain, discarding the solids.
  5. I missed seeing the wine of the day. It is our absolute favorite. On our cruise on the Rotterdam in January they didn’t have any. The wine manager got off in curasao and bought bottles for us.

Ginger Buck: Ingredients 2 parts Basil Hayden's® Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 1 part Lime Juice ½ part Fresh Ginger ⅓ part Simple Syrup Garnish: Sprig of Rosemary, Candied Ginger Instructions In a cocktail shaker, add fresh ginger and muddle until fine. Add in ice and all remaining ingredients and shake until well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a rosemary sprig & a piece of candied ginger on the rim.
