  1. Looking for any information on Celebrity cruises vow renewals or weddings. We are sailing on the equinox in February 2018 and thought we may renew our wedding vows. Looking for past experiences, advice and basically any information or insight. The celebrity website no longer lists any packages available. We are not looking for a "group" renewal, we want more of a private event, second wedding kind of thing. Thanks in advance!!

  2. We have never participated in a cabin crawl, but we have hosted an open house and sail away party. We had a great butler that provided snacks (including shrimp and chocolate covered strawberries) champagne and pop. I think we might have even had wine and beer, just can't remember at this point. It was great! Not too many from the roll call came but it was fun. I love hosting cocktail parties at home and its much more fun on a cruise when you don't have to clean up afterwards! I could see a Cabin Crawl being a lot of fun - maybe hosting a different cocktail in each room (reminds me of university and a floor crawl!) Looking forward to our next cruise in February 2018 - plan to have at least one cocktail party. :D

  3. There is a thread currently that states celebrity reflection stopped in turkey recently. We are on the August 8th sailing and as of today, we are still visiting both our Turkish ports. Apparently all safe and secure. Things can still change from now until we visit, but we are looking forward to our stops

  4. It's been two years since we have sailed, but we had no issues getting multiple pours in the MDR. Since our entire table had the same drink package, we should just get multiple bottles on the table and would be replenished if needed. I really hope that the two pours is not policy, or we will be very disappointed on Monday!

  5. It should be visible, unfortunately nothing with celebrity's website instills confidence! Our reservations were all fine until after our check in process and now we have issues with our perks. I have contacted celebrity and have been reassured that everything looks fine on their system. I have emails confirming the amount of OBC we should have. I also have the invoice showing we have a zero balance and the correct perks for each of our staterooms. I am expecting to have to deal with things once on board, but am going to try not to stress about it. We will see on Monday if everything on their system is correct.

  6. Normally our edocs show a lot of information, this time nothing is listed. It has our name and stateroom number, boarding time and luggage tags. In the past it would show our OBC, beverage package, excursions booked, dining etc. this time there's nothing. I have received emails in regards to some of our concerns, ie: our OBC should be $900 each stateroom, but online it's showing either $600 or $300. I am making sure to bring all our supporting documents/emails but I am expecting to be spending some time confirming our perks and excursions once onboard. It is very frustrating that we don't have everything finalized and confirmed (or at least the confidence that it is all ok)

  7. I've got an X excursion booked for Ephesus in a couple of weeks but thinking I'll cancel that and stay on board. It's one of my bucket list places but I'd rather try again in a few years when hopefully the country will be safer and more stable.

We canceled our X excursion for Ephesus a couple of weeks back, after the attempted coup. We may rebook once on the ship if we decide that we are comfortable. I always book the excursions ahead of time so we avoid being disappointed that a particular excursion sells out. I decided to cancel for a number of reasons, firstly at the time, i really thought that the cruise line would change the itinerary. We also figured that if celebrity decides to maintain the Turkish ports, theres no way these excursions will sell out and may even be offered at a discount to try to entice guests. We have so much OBC that we can use, so if we feel comfortable we will use that to rebook. See you soon! Only 10 days left!!

  8. Bonedoc I think we are on the same Reflection cruise and I agree I would just like an update from Celebrity.

Looking forward to this cruise! Can't wait to meet everyone. We will enjoy this cruise in any form that it presents itself. We travel quite a bit throughout the year, but for family only vacations, it's only every other year and we make the most of our family vacations! See you soon!

  9. It would be nice to receive an official update from Celebrity. I have read conflicting reports from individuals "in the know". Current guests on the reflection state that they heard there will be no further changes to the itinerary and I also heard that all future stops to turkey will be replaced with other ports (this individual would not divulge their source). At this point with our insurance, we could cancel without penalty since the Canadian government has issued an avoid all non essential travel to the country of Turkey (not just specific regions). Although, we do not plan to cancel, we are fortunately in the position where we could "adapt" at the last moment and not worry about the financial consequences, there are others that have the decision to make to travel against their government advisories. It's not quite a simple "chill and relax" situation for some. A simple updated statement would be helpful and appreciated.

  10. We have a stop there in October & have a tour booked with an independent tour operator. We plan to go. Bad things can and do happen everywhere it seems. If someone wants to do harm I would feel less a target being in a mini-van with 5-6 others than in a large our bus that is obviously full of tourists.

I think OP is more concerned about the possibility of celebrity canceling the Port. Celebrity has cancelled the upcoming stop to Nice.

  11. Reflection Sailing on 18th July has replaced Kusadasi and Bodrum with Rhodes and Sicily, were on the 8th August sailing and as of now still going to Turkey, but would prefer not to.

I agree. I will be happy to have a change in our itinerary. The Canadian government has issued an "avoid all travel to turkey" which is their highest level. Although we are not going to cancel, I will need to actually read our travel insurance small print to see the consequences of traveling against the advisory. I would vote for Malta, Croatia or an extra sea day as alternatives. Even an overnight in Naples would be great - so many different things to see in Naples, it was hard to pick one.

    See you soon!!

  12. Thank you for taking time to review! Glad to hear you enjoyed the hotel, we have three nights booked prior to our cruise in August. Quick question, is Bodrum easy to navigate on your own? My FIL wants to go to the castle and museum, and I am thinking there's no point booking the celebrity excursion for $60 each, if we can get there easily on our own. Are taxis readily available? Thanks in advance

  13. I love this thread! Light hearted and yet somewhat serious at the same time!! No judgements either, which is wonderful. I can see myself as someone who could have an issue with the slots if I didn't give myself a limit. This cruise coming up we have lots of non refundable OBC so thinking a visit to the casino may be in order. I give myself a limit of $10-$20 a night. It usually only lasts a good 5 min on the slots but I do enjoy those 5 min!!

  14. You have the original documents, it will get sorted. I wish we could share the same personal vacation person. She works for Celebrity US and is absolutely wonderful! Although she can help us, even though we are in canada, I am thinking the UK would be a stretch. I would have all your previous documents on hand during your call. Hopefully it all gets worked out without too much pain.

  15. It is annoying, but i wouldnt worry about, i am sure everything will get sorted out. I tend not to trust anything that is listed on the website, and only what our personal vacation planner sends. The website is always showing incorrect OBC, i do have it in writing the correct amount and will make sure to have it with me on the cruise. I plan to use every penny of our OBC on drinks in our cabins (sometimes you just dont feel like leaving the cabin to get a drink with your bev package) and specialty restaurants or the spa!! 72 days until we sail!

  16. 10:50am is the earliest FCO flight departure recommended by Celebrity Cruises for this specific sailing.

This is great to hear! I have been a little concerned about our flights out of Rome at 11:30. Originally when we started looking flights were at 12:45, which were changed to 11:15 and then once again to 11:30. We plan to walk off and I have booked our private transportation for 7 am, but I prefer not to stress. We realize things happen, but I feel better knowing we aren't being unrealistic.

  17. That's fine. The staff absolutely will NOT turn a woman away dressed like that. I guarantee you. Bill me for your service charges if they do!

Unless a guest goes around lifting table cloths and making a big public stink, then my offer is void.

Seriously, it won't be a problem.

    Thanks!

  18. I unfortunately do have a question about shorts in the dining room! Personally, I do not care what others are wearing and think everyone should be able to vacation how they wish. My concern is in regards to the new trend for the rompers / shorts jumpsuits that women are wearing in a dressed up manner. Officially they are shorts, but almost look like a cocktail dress. Personally, you wouldn't catch me in one, but they look great on my 20 year old daughter. Would these be acceptable in the MDR. My daughter would die of embarrassment if she was turned away in public.
