I bought the 4 day dining package on the Ovation and am wondering with the ala carte credit of $35, does that extend to the children in the group? Thank you.
-
You could always exchange it to aud when you are in Melbourne.
-
I've booked on the Ovation in December and can book the beverages, Internet and excursions at the moment. No sale for me either except the usual 20% off the alcoholic beverage package.
-
Thanks for the replies, I've always wondered why they can't keep part of it open like other lines.
-
I am wondering do the buffet's still close between breakfast and lunch, then lunch and dinner, particularly on the short 4 day cruises? I wanting to try them out again but that was my biggest bugbear.

Totally agree, we have hired cars in Thailand, drive with the flow.....just like crossing the road in Saigon or Hanoi:D
Honking of horns is when someone is overtaking you......not like here.
Best holidays we have had, I feel safer driving than with some of the guides we have had:eek:
We take our Australian license, an International license, have full travel insurance and hire from a reputable company.
Horn here is an audible version of the middle finger, horn's in Asia is an audible version of the indicator.
Ultimately though some tourist need to understand the culture they are getting into rather than bring their way of doing it in their country. That's when they usually get in trouble, that goes whether they are on the road or otherwise. Combined that with inexperience then it's a recipe for disaster.
-
Exactly, normal road rules seem like they are just suggestions.
Having ridden and driven and Asia in particular Saigon, it's not that bad, so long as you don't take "Australian" road rules with you. If you understand flow of traffic has right of way, personal space is non-existent and the bigger vehicle has "right of way" then it should be ok.
As for the lady in hospital, she is old enough to know better, you don't magically get riding abilities while overseas. When I was younger I was stupid enough to ride without a license while OS but at least I had riding experience.

Deck 7 and 14 (next to the bar)

It's possible to do it yourself, from what I've been told there needs to be a minimum of 9 people to do the chefs table.
With the allergy issue it must depend on the allergy as one person from our party had a mushroom allergy and they accommodated her.
-
One option is on embarkation at 2pm they setup a desk to make adjustments to your dining reservations. You can also make all your reservations for things like Chef's table.

So not RAW, and not huge, but sufficient for most people. You can easily print an 8x10, and a decent 11x14. Assuming they are 300ppi.
Yes they are 300dpi and JPG. You could probably request them in RAW format, there is plenty of space on the usb drive they give out.

The promo info doesn't specify resolution of the digital files but I certainly hope and expect them to be print files, not just web resolution.
Photos are abit over 1mb each and are 3300 * 4000 in resolution.

According to the last Princess crew contract I saw, all cash tips must be handed in, many here will try and tell you differently but it was there in black and white.
Does the contract state that it goes to the pool or to the person?
-
Thanks JF that's good to hear.

I've got a quick question in regards to tipping. What is the policy in regards to giving extra tips to waiters? I was recently on the Diamond and we had great service from the our waiters and we gave them a cash tip at the end. I was asked for my stateroom number afterwards and it didn't occur to me at the time but does that mean the tip goes into the pool and place against my stateroom?
-
It's 15 for 2 hrs or 60 for 5 sessions on the current cruise.
-
I was on the first tender and there were already 3 local boats moored several metres from the Diamond Princess on top of the one that was operating at the time. Not sure if they were for shore excursions or premeditated for what was to come.
I got my tender ticket earlier than what was on the patter, at 8.10 rather than the 9am listed.

There are no barbels now on the legend, the dumbells go up to 100lbs now. There is a chinup bar just outside on the cardio level. There is enough on the ship for a decent workout, sometimes you just have to be creative.

Hi just a quick question, does the HOHO bus go both directions, so I can go to the aquarium first then catch the bus the other way to Lemon beach or will I have to do the full loop? Thanks.

So you are saying that you have gained weight after the diet last year (I'm assuming this given you are starting the diet again) and you are expecting to gain weight again after doing this diet again, so why do it? Why not do something that will make a permanent change in your life?
You don't have to eat chicken and celery for the rest of your life, but obviously any comments are wasted on you.
The only reason why I comment on this thread and I'm sure ducklite is the same as we've been through all this before and made the mistakes and are trying to steer others from making the same mistakes and to teach what we've learnt.
But you obviously prefer to do the same thing over and over getting the same results and I find that crazy.

I was on the Dawn in November and there was San Pellegrino in the 1L bottle.

We are looking to get to Bangkok from Laem Chabang Port this February. Does anyone have any suggestions of reliable transfers? Thank you.
This is who I used from Laem Cha Bang to Pattaya http://www.orientalescape.com/thailand/transfer/bangkok.html

I just came back from the sailing in December on the Millennium and Celebrity does do the visa for Vietnam. If you plan to stay overnight then you need to apply at the desk Celebrity will open especially for Visa application/information. You will need 1 passport style photo and it will cost 50-60 (originally it was suppose to be $60 but then they dropped the price to $50). If you just plan to just to go onshore for the day or even if you just plan to stay on the ship you won't have to do anything, Celebrity will automatically apply for a landing card for you and charge your onboard account.

I think those that are offended by the advice ducklite is giving, is because she is just be straight with her advice. It doesn't make the advice any less sound.
While everyone's body is different, the basics are the same in relation to nutrition and exercise. You have to remember weight gains happens over a extended period of time so weight loss takes time, something these short term diets don't provide. What these diets do is shock your system which is where the weight loss happens at the start, which is not necessarily a good thing. Most of your losses will be muscle mass which affects your metabolism as ducklite stated. What ducklite states is true, ultimately you need to change your relationship with food.
If you want to lose weight in a healthy way you need to create a calorie deficit without adversely affecting your muscle mass/metabolism. If you creating too big a calorie deficit your body will go into shutdown/survival mode and will consume your muscle for its calorie needs. Because your body is in this survival mode it's doing what it can to reduce number of calories it needs, which then has a negative effect on your metabolism.
Also because your body consume your muscle, you think you are doing a good job losing weight on the scales but in the end you are just negatively affecting your metabolism and in the end you will just gain it back, hence this yo-yo effect.
This is why a balanced diet is so important for the long term and combining it with exercise. Lifting weights is important part of the exercise you do. The reason being is you want to limit the amount of muscle loss when you are in a calorie deficit. You will gain muscle mass at the start even in a calorie deficit, when you are overweight but this will taper off.
Just make sure your diet consist of a balance protein, carbohydrates and fats, anywhere from 40%/40%/20% to 40%/30%/30% of your calorie intake. Water intake is also important, this is to ensure your liver is healthy, your liver is what processes your body fat, hence why its important it's healthy.
These are the things I've learnt through my weight loss journey, while I admit that I don't know everything, it does work and I have made large changes to my life and can show proof with before and after pictures.
Dining Packages with kids

Sorry I wasn't clear, everyone has the dining package but I noticed in the terms and conditions children under 12 the package is 50% of the adult price. I am just wondering if the credit is also reduced for the child priced.
