  1. Hi all,

I am finally giving in to the high prices and going ahead with booking my summer cruise, we are going to be in a 1A cabin, on the Silhouette cabin 7247.

I know there is a spread sheet which tells you about cabins, but I couldn't find the most up to date link.

Could anyone tell me, if they have been in this cabin? Is it good? Is it a "hump" cabin, not that I know what that means, but maybe someone would explain it to me.

thanks for any info you can share.

    have a great day,

    S'Duck:)

A "hump" cabin is frequently booked by couples on their honeymoon !!!!!

  2. We are currently on the Eclipse for the next three weeks (B2B) and it's absolutely wonderful.

I had read of all the cutbacks and was seriously nervous about the month we were about to spend on her but I have to tell you that everything is fabulous.

We are in Aqua and the service and food in BLU is out of this world. Our wonderful waiter, Gamma, has said that the Maitre D, Fathi, is supportive and wonderful to work with/for and that's why the service is so great. I just know that I see all of the service staff supporting each other and having the time to talk to all of the passengers and that no one seems rushed or under pressure. The food is also great. Not sure if there's a new menu (there might be since we're here a week now and I've only seen tuna - one of my favorites - once. ) But everything we've had (disclaimer - I only eat fish and my husband is a vegan) has been delicious.

I've read of complaints about the bar service but we've had wonderful , smiling service around the pools and at the bars.

I also have to laud Eddie the CD. I had read he was trying movies at the pool at night but that they were only at 8:00. We are late diners and I requested that he try a later movie and last night the movie was offered at 8 and 10. I absolutely LOVED laying under the Caribbean stars watching a movie. I'm really impressed that Eddie listened to an (anonymous) passenger and made a change! That really encompasses how I feel about ALL of the service on board.

So anyone who is apprehensive about your future cruise on the Eclipse - don't be! You are in for a wonderful 2 weeks!!!! :D

    I wish I was still there:champagne-toast:

  3. I'm pretty sure I turned in fairly early after the show myself to get some rest before our last port and last land before starting the Atlantic crossing.

OMG we woke up in the Canary Islands! May I present our first view from our balcony...hello Santa Cruz, Tenerife!

One of the things I got a kick out of in our Daily's on port days was the All Aboard section. The Tenerife one was my favorite, and I quote:

"All Aboard at 4:30 pm: Important Note: If you do not return before departure time it is your responsibility to make arrangements to rejoin the ship. Travel distance to the port of Fort Lauderdale, Florida is 3413 nautical miles". :o

Now if that doesn't put a little fear of time into a person, I don't know what will. It worked every time for us (especially this one), so we were always super careful to return early! Now had we done ship excursions we would have not had to worry about it. The reason we didn't do them, by the way, is because all of the ports were new to us, so ANYthing we did in them was an experience.

We didn't want to get in the way of folks leaving the ship for planned excursions, so we chose to leisurely get off. This morning was a perfect morning for a stop at Cafe al Bacio!

It's important to look here before taking a seat:

And ....you got a piece of a rainbow in your photo !!

Love your review, you guys sound like you would be great to meet on a cruise.

  4. Certainly it's a cost cutting thing. They are trying to cut back on waste as much as they can...Profit margins have been shrinking...and a business can't function without PROFIT! It's the truth...it's not a sin or illegal. Businesses MUST make profit, or they fail and go OUT of business. It's just how it is.

Thank you for the economics lesson.

  5. We saw one on our cruise last year. We actually got a chance to speak to the owner and the little dog was her service/therapy dog. She showed us all her paperwork giving permission for the dog to go wherever she does -- she has to carry it with her whenever the dog is with her on "official work". It was quite a lengthy process to get her dog certified and she said it took quite a long time to get all the medical approval. Apparently her dog calms her anxiety issues.

Can I bring my "therapy" Ketel One with me ? It calms my anxiety !!!
