  1. Sounds like you guys had a great time. Could be an option for us IF we can't get a Beach Cabana. 😎
  2. I really can't explain it. The first week we were on there were 5800+ passengers aboard and Cucina was great. The second week there were 400 less passengers and Cucina was not so great. However, the second week Cucina was very crowded when we went, so maybe they couldn't handle that type of rush.
  3. Tonight we went back to Cucina del Capitano for dinner. It was not a very good experience. First, it was very crowded. Second, it took forever for someone to take our food and drink orders. Third, it took even longer for said orders to be delivered. To top it off, all the food came out just luke warm. If this had been our experience last week, we wouldn’t have been back. We both started with the Caprese salad…. Patti had the spaghetti carbonara and the chicken parmesan…… I had Nonna’s meatball and the short rib…… We both had the apple crostata for dessert….. The best part of this meal was that we didn’t have to pay for it! Afterwards, we walked around the ship for a while. The Backyard Band was playing at the Pig & Anchor….. The Beelay Jazz Trio and friends were playing at the Brass Magnolia….. At Center Stage they were playing “Finish the Lyric” where two teams face off against each other to see who was best at finishing the lyrics of a song…… It was a lot of fun, and the audience really enjoyed playing along….. Back to the cabin where we found tonight’s towel creature….. Coming up next: Let’s eat! Diamond Luncheon and Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse.
  4. Here are some more views as the Mardi Gras sails from Mahogany Bay….. To be continued…..
  5. We hung out in the cabin until sail away at 6:00. The last of the pier runners appeared in the distance….. The Mardi Gras sails away from Mahogany Bay….. That’s the cabana area where we were today….. To be continued……
  6. Once Patti got back to the cabana, she found me enjoying myself in the water….. I came ashore and had Jerry bring us some more drinks. I’m starting on my second bucket of beer….. A short time later we had Jerry bring us some lunch. Patti had the chicken fingers, and I had the loaded nachos….. We noticed that every cabana had hummingbird feeders. Man, those little birds are fast! At this point the camera got put away and we spent the afternoon enjoying our cabana, the beach bed, the water, and our drinks. Around 4:30 we decided to head back to the ship. Our tab, including a large tip for our server Jerry, was $170. We will be back here on the Celebration next April, and our Beach Cabana is already booked! To be continued…..
  7. Thanks! That's the effect that we are looking for. "Live" reviews aren't our thing to do, but we sure enjoy reading them!
  8. Patti is going to head back to Mahogany Beach. She’ll take the Magical Chairs back. Here are some views….. Patti spots our cabin again, outlined in red….. Patti continues on the Magical Chairs….. To be continued…..
  9. On the edge of the property you’ll find the Extreme Zip-Line Adventure….. Patti is heading to explore the shops, bars, and restaurants of Mahogany Bay….. To be continued……
  10. Patti continues following the Nature Trail….. Patti captures some of the flora and fauna….. Once she emerges from the Nature Trail she heads over to where the Carnival Excursions and taxi’s leave from…… Here are the taxi rates….. This picture brings back memories. The first time we came here around six years ago, we had a non Carnival excursion booked. Independent excursion providers were not allowed onto the Mahogany Bay property to pick you up, so you had to walk up this hill and down the other side, and off of the property where they could meet and pick you up. However, upon return they were allowed onto the property to drop you off. Not sure if this is still the case or not. To be continued……
  11. Patti decides to walk on over to the Mahogany Bay side. Here are the views along the way…… She comes to the Nature Trail and decides to take it….. To be continued…..
  12. No, just go to the cabana area and an attendant there will set you up. It's first come, first served when picking your cabana. The sooner you get there, the more choices you will have.
  13. Patti heads over to Playa Tortugas to check it out….. She took these next two for Saint Greg….. Here are a few more beach views….. To be continued……
  14. Patti stops briefly at our cabana and catches me still relaxing on the beach bed enjoying my beer. For most of the day I alternated between there and in the water….. Patti continues on her tour. This is where you get all the details. First, here are the Water Sports Rental Fees….. Yep, another port, another Fish Spa…… Patti passes by the Massage Hut….. Here are a couple of beach views….. To be continued…..
  15. Patti walks out to the end of the dock, taking these views on the way….. Patti can see plenty of fish in the water….. To be continued…..
  16. Patti heads out to start her photo tour of Mahogany Beach. She exits behind our cabana and heads across the path to the bathrooms, which are kept very neat and clean….. Patti then checks out El Hideaway, the bar and restaurant out at the end of the beach. This is a favorite hangout for crewmembers, and it is right by the dock that heads out to the snorkeling area……. Here are the Beach Rules…… Patti heads out on the dock. Looking back towards the cabanas, she sees me relaxing on a beach bed enjoying another beer….. To be continued…..
  17. Here are some more cabana area views including the Grand Cabana….. This is Jerry who will be our server today….. He gets our first round of the day for us. I get a bucket of Dos Equis….. Patti gets a Banana Berry Daiquiri….. Here is Patti and the Mardi Gras…… This is the water directly in front of the cabanas. In the distance you can see another cruise ship docked at Coxen Hole….. Off to the left is the dock that takes you out to the snorkeling area. Patti will be walking out there later….. To be continued…….
  18. Today we have the Banana Cabana…… This is what is included with the cabana….. These are the cabana menus. Any drinks or food will come from the nearby El Hideaway…… Patti models our wristbands….. To be continued…..
  19. We really love our cabanas, and we try to get one at the locations that have them. If not, then we shoot for an all inclusive property.
  20. Here are some more views taken from the Magical Chairs as we head to Mahogany Beach….. Once off of the Magical Chairs we walked along the beach to where the cabanas are….. Here are a couple of views of the cabana area….. To be continued…..
  21. Today we have a Beach Cabana over at Mahogany Beach, so we left the ship pretty much as soon as it was cleared. Here are Patti and I in front of the much photographed Mahogany Bay sign…… Here are some views of Mahogany Bay as we make our way to the Magical Chairs, the chairlift that will take us over to Mahogany Beach….. We are now on the Magical Chairs on our way to Mahogany Beach. For those that have cabanas, the price is included with the rental. Here are a few views…… Looking over at the Mardi Gras we can see our cabin. It’s on the third deck from the bottom and the seventh cabin from the left, with the lounger that’s sideways….. To be continued…..
  22. Here are some views of the Mahogany Beach area from our balcony…… The sun is finally rising over the hills of Isla Roatan……. To be continued……
  23. Day # 12 (May 4th) - Isla Roatan (8am – 6pm). We were up at 7am, just as the Mardi Gras was pulling into Mahogany Bay. It was still pretty dark as the Captain spun the ship around to back into her berth….. We were docked by 7:30am. We would be the only ship at Mahogany Bay today. Here are some views taken from our balcony looking forward and aft…… The gangways have been pulled out already….. Here are today’s “Fun Times”……. To be continued…..
  24. Thank you so much! Patti was pretty heartbroken over the whole thing, but now she has a new camera which is a step up from what she had before.
