Day # 5 - (4/20/23) - Mahogany Bay (8am – 6pm). We were up at 7am, just as the Carnival Celebration was approaching Mahogany Bay. The sun hasn’t come up yet as ship’s time is two hours ahead of local time, meaning that it’s only 5am here…… Here are today’s Fun Times….. Captain Alcaras spins the Celebration around to back into our berth….. The officers and pilot keep an eye out from the bridge….. Today, we have rented a beach cabana. As we back in we can see the area where we’ll be hanging out today….. To be continued…..

More of the Most Magnificent Circus….. The bows….. After the show we went up to the Marketplace for dinner. Patti had mozzarella sticks, barramundi, skillet potatoes, green beans, and spinach….. I had the sliced roast beef, fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, and skillet potatoes….. We stopped for ice cream by the Tides Bar, and then grabbed a coffee on the way back to the cabin. Here is tonight’s towel animal……. Coming up next: Our day at Mahogany Bay.

At 6pm we made our way down to Center Stage to get floor seats for the 7:15 performance of the Most Magnificent Circus. We wound up sitting with our friends Flo and Al.….. We’ve got our drinks….. We’ve heard mixed reviews concerning this show, but we really enjoyed it. I think it’s because there was a lot of interaction between the cast and those people sitting on the floor. Patti took over one hundred pictures during the show, but I’ll only be showing you a small portion of them. Welcome to the Most Magnificent Circus….. To be continued…..

It was pretty busy with the first three ships in. We were out of there before the Adventure of the Seas came in. 😎

Patti concludes today’s picture tour with the Heroes Tribute Lounge….. In the meantime, I have awoken from my two-hour nap. I’m hungry, so I head up to Guy’s Burger for a Pig Patty and fries, then take it to the Red Frog Tiki Bar to wash it down with a couple of Thirsty Frog Wheats. Afterwards, I head back to the cabin where I find Patti out on the balcony reading and taking a well-deserved rest. She did a lot of walking today to get all these pictures for us. Thanks Babe!!! We hung out until we sailed away a little after 5pm….. To be continued…..

Across the way from the Cloud 9 Spa, is the Cloud 9 Fitness Center….. Patti checks out the Punchliner Comedy Club…… We had five comedians aboard the Celebration this cruise. They were Tim Young, Tommy Drake, Jorge Marroquin “DJ Cooch”, Percy Crews 2, and Billy D. Washington. To be continued…..

Don't I know it. When I had my right hip done in 2019, I was driving in two weeks! When I feel it's time I have no qualms about getting the left hip done. My left knee however, I am not looking forward to.

Here is the Adventure OTS and Jewel OTS docked in Costa Maya….. Looking at the Flowrider and water slides on the Adventure OTS….. The Serenity Pool is fairly busy….. This is the entrance to Loft 19….. Here is the Seaside Theater and the Red Frog Tiki Bar….. Patti makes her way down to Deck 6 forward. This is the entrance to the Cloud 9 Spa…… Since we don’t have a spa cabin or spa pass, we can’t tour the Thermal Suites. We’ll cover that on embarkation day when we’re back on the Celebration in January. To be continued…..

Once back on the ship, my hip was still barking at me, so I went back to the cabin, applied some Lidocaine, took some painkillers, and then took a nap. Patti went up to the Marketplace to make herself a salad, and then went out on the open decks to take some pictures. She got these of the port area and the shoreline looking south….. Patti took a bunch of shots of the Valiant Lady’s upper decks….. To be continued…..

Patti laughed when she saw her drink! We knew that the picture would get a "rise" from everybody! 😁

The Valiant Lady is docked right across from the Celebration….. The Jewel OTS has joined us here in Costa Maya….. In the distance we can see the Adventure OTS approaching Costa Maya….. Here are views of the sterns of the Jewel OTS and the Valiant Lady….. The Celebration and Valiant Lady are almost touching each other…. We head up the gangway and back onto the Celebration….. Patti meets me back at Husband Daycare and we have one last drink there together. I continue to drink Dos Equis, while Patti has a pina colada in a palm tree cup….. Around noon we decided to head back to the ship. Here are a few more random views as we made our way out of the port area….. To be continued…..
