Diageo produces a lot more than whisky.

There's no bourbon on their list. Do you think that means no drinks with bourbon, hopefully not?

Well, there is a YouTube video you might like to watch. Interesting.

Well, at first blush this new venture doesn't seem like something to cheer about so I'll wait and see when further information is available. I'll still miss the Molecular Bar though.

Ok I will start the debate that has been going on and shouldn't really be our concern.
All of the TIPS are POOLED. At the end of the cruise all of the TIPS are counted and then various amounts are put into weighted capsules and then thrown into the employee's swimming pool. They have a free for all diving and scrambling for the capsules. There is a 2 minute time limit. The amount of capsules that they collected gives them more opportunity to make more but it all depends on how lucky they are as some will have larger amounts then others, and there are more with less than with the big prize. They have been complaints about males making more so they now make sure that each female gets at least 2 capsules.
All remaining capsules are giving to the staff officers.
My answer is as good as any other answer as no one knows.
happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞
Cute. That brought a smile to my face.

We are cruising from Port Liberty and are looking for a reasonable place to park. Were is Premier Parking located? Thank you for the info
Check out their web site for the information you need.
-
We used Premier Parking about 3 years ago. They were excellent and did have frequent shuttles. I appreciated the fact it was cheaper to park there.

On our Equinox b2b in February 2015 we got 2 pairs of slippers in our Aqua Class cabin on each cruise. In fact, these slippers are better than the ones given previously. They are still too big but are more comfortable than before.
-
We did the 2/13/15 10-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Equinox. The President's Holiday in 2016 is 2/15 so you'll probably get more kids and a more diverse group of ages. If that's something you don't mind (or prefer), keep that in mind. That's what happened on our February 13th cruise.
-
My favorites: Kentucky Derby and Scorpion Kiss. However, you should try them all and decide for yourself. I did just this on our b2b in February on the Equinox. I hope Celebrity picks a bar that is equal to the wonderful Molecular Bar.

I just hate it when rumors take over a CC board. Can one of the hosts please confirm or not this "news" about the demise/change of the Molecular Bar? I can't find any post from Celebrity on it, and we are booked for the April 19 TA on Silhouette in 5 weeks. Was looking forward to more fun experiences in the Molecular Bar as on our previous cruises on Eclipse.
Yes, DH couldn't get his single malt scotch there but we picked it up on the way at the Martini Bar. No big.
It was always full, bartenders were polite, and we didn't get any sense that it was a "third party operation." Don't care where the concept came from. Just hoping it is still there in a few weeks. Any official, factual info would be most welcome.
Thanks.
There is preliminary word from Celebrity; see post #95. Now we just have to wait out the 90 or so days to find out the final word. Hope you enjoy the cruise. Let us know how it goes.

We ate in Blu so dinner was at a different time every night. We usually ate around 7:30 - maybe the music was scheduled to be before and after early and late traditional dining (6 and 8:30).
(Or maybe whoever scheduled the entertainment read our comments when leaving the ship)
We were on the 2/2 and 2/13 sailings of the Equinox. The timing of music in the Ensemble Lounge was from 5:00 to 5:45, 6:15 to 7:00 and 7:45 to 8:45. The type of music varied from having a "the cello chics" to a guitarist. That was on the 2/2 sailing but on the 2/23 sailing the Auburn Duo took over for the cello players. It was a viola and guitar group and they were excellent. In fact they were so enjoyable we went many times just to listen to them play. If the guitar player was in there, we didn't. We didn't like what he was playing. It was too loud and not enjoyable.

Well, I'm glad to have some information about what's happening with the Molecular Bar. I guess I'll wait and see what the end result will be and make decisions from there. I really hope the new bar will using the same quality ingredients used previously.

Dear Karen,
I was hoping you would weigh in on this. I truly hope that this is just a rumor with no foundation because I would definitely be UPSET. There is no way I'd upgrade to the Premium Drinks Package if the Molecular Bar went away. And we also have 5 cruises currently booked.
Hope you had a good cruise on the Eclipse.

We recently got off a b2b in February on the Equinox. Every evening of the 21 days we were onboard we were at the Molecular Bar. I was determined to try every drink and find my favorites and I did just that. Ultimately the Scorpion Kiss and Kentucky Derby were the ones. Every night I took a Kentucky Derby with me into dinner. I really hope that the Molecular Bar doesn't get changed too much because it's the only bar I like on the ship. The bar has spoiled me for drinking anywhere else. Their drinks are so much better than the others. Also you couldn't pay me to go to the Martini Bar; IMHO it's loud, crowded and the drinks don't appeal to me at all. There's a market for the Molecular Bar. It was quite busy many times I was there or passed by and I believe with the Beverage Package more were trying it out and will be converted to fans like me.

The Molecular Bar is the only bar that I patronize so I truly hope this is not true. Please Celebrity don't mess with success.

Take Starbucks Via with you and you can't go wrong. Otherwise it's Cafe al Bacio for us.

It's only on the Equinox so far. We enjoyed the non-alcoholic ones on our Mediterranean cruise. We have the premium package for our cruise next week so may consider getting the ones with alcohol.
-
I booked a cruise in late November 2013 which offered the beverage package as a perk. We sail on February 2nd and in the last few days I called the Enhancement Desk to upgrade to the premium package. I was told that I didn't have the free beverage package for that cruise but they did show it for our b2b on 2/13/15. Nothing I said was working so her solution was that I had to call my TA and have her straighten it out. I did this and the TA had it worked out almost immediately. However, I was checking my credit card and the charge hadn't come through so I knew there was an issue. Another phone call to the TA and she got it solved although for a time there Celebrity was saying they might have charged me twice. The extra charge hasn't materialized but I'm still watching. I hope and pray all this is not totally resolved and we can go on the cruise totally carefree. Just a few more days to find out.

We always stay a day or two in Florida and take the train back to Boston-so we have a slow transition back to Maine and a cool Spring.
For the last several years we too take the train back to Richmond. It's such a civilized way to get to and from Fort Lauderdale. We despise the planes and the cattle call way you are treated.
-
Sorry, but you need the Premium Package to get Perrier/Pellegrino. That's why I'll upgrade.

On the Eclipse the solarium pool opened at 7 am. However, I was able to push that a little and no one said anything about that. Yes, it's really too small to do much in the way of lap swimming but something is better than nothing. Almost every day I was able to swim for about 30 minutes. When additional people got in the pool I got out.
Where there's a will there's a way.

Can anyone tell me if they have slimline tonic in any of the bars on the Eclipse?
We have the Classic drink package for our first Celebrity cruise next May & my partner can only take the diet type in his gin.
I've sailed twice on the Eclipse and they definitely have the Diet Tonic available.
Molecular Bar to be replaced with World Class Bar
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
I too am being optimistic that the new World Class Bar will have delicious drinks like the Molecular Bar. However, you noted there are many more bars on the ship if you do not like it won't work for me. The Molecular Bar was the only bar with drinks I liked. I would even buy drinks there when we didn't have a beverage package because they were worth the money. None of the other bars had anything worth drinking (or paying for). I've got the Beverage Package on my upcoming 5 cruises but I plan on waiting until on board the ship to decide if I want to upgrade to the Premium Package. I'm pretty sure the drinks from the World Class Bar will require it but I think I'll buy one drink first and then decide whether to upgrade. I'm crossing my fingers the drinks will be worth it.
