It was a virtual parking lot from the 60 until we got to the 110 fwy. Those of you familiar with So Cal freeways know what I’m talking about.For dinner tonight, we ate in the hotel restaurant. We both enjoyed our respective selections. service was also very good. 
 

As far as the Doubletree goes, it’s a nice hotel. We’ve stayed here before (last time was 2018). The rooms are a tad dated but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to someone looking for a nice pre cruise stay. The one thing they no longer have (post Covid) is room service. Our dinner waiter did tell us there are plans to bring room service back. 

 

Not much on tap for tomorrow. I’ll probably get up early and walk around the Marina taking a bunch of pictures. After breakfast, I need to make a CVS run to pick up a prescription that Holli forgot to pack. Our dinner plans will be dining at our favorite local restaurant (22nd Street Landing). 
 

That’s all for now as the drive did me in and I’m pretty tired.

I think you have been away from S. CA. too long to remember how bad Friday night traffic can be.

Was on the Sapphire in August in Alaska and really enjoyed the ship a great deal. Bon Voyage you 2.

Chills (they are the worst symptoms) come and go and this dreaded dry cough. I also am going through bouts of having very little energy to do anything. It was quite a chore to get our checked luggage packed or to even type this post. 

 

With the exception of testing positive for COVID, I've really enjoyed this cruise. The crew was top notch. Everyone seemed genuinely happy and loved doing their best to make sure we had a great cruise.

 

I'll write a review later when we get home and I feel a little better.

That's all for now. Next up is Hawaii in October on the Sapphire in the GS.....

So sorry to hear about what you are experiencing. I do hope the flight home will be quick and you can get home soon and recuperate in your own home.

if you said it, I must have missed it. Is Michele Tuvo the Captain of the Ship? Or Captain Bye-bye as he is also known. As you recall, he was the Captain when we did Hawaii. Such a wonderful, personable man.

It's bad enough losing a garment, but the accompanying hassle to get reimbursed is over the top.  It took about 2½ months to get reimbursed.

 

By the way, Princess and many other cruise lines no longer offer true dry cleaning due to reduction of chemicals onboard.

Thanks Lew or sharing your experiences. I guess I have been extremely lucky because none of things have ever happened to me. And perhaps I would feel different about the Princess laundry services if it happened to me.

Ever since I have been Elite w/Princess, yes I have gotten free laundry and free dry cleaning. No, you are not wrng. Enjoy the perk. It certainly is nice.

As far as today goes, Holli has a early massage appointment.  I might take a few more pictures and continue work on cataloging and touching up pictures I've already taken.  I will also probably do a load of laundry and start putting stuff in my suitcases to get ready for the move to the new cabin.

Good evening all.  I had an unfortunate incident earlier during dinner.  We decided to eat at the pool bar area of the hotel.  While eating dinner, I excused myself to use the facilities. The closest one was a short distance away near the entrance to the hotel’s beach area.  As I was exiting, I made a quick right turn to head back to rejoin Holli.  Due no lightning outside at the entrance, I didn’t see an approximate 3x1 decorative rock formation.  
 

Yup you guessed it, I did a 1 & 1/2 with a full twist and landed face down on the rock formation.  My right ankle/shin took the worst of it with the shin quite swollen and quite painful.  I am hoping some ice will do the twist.  Really terrible luck the night before we board.....

So agree as I handle my Slot Pulls the same way you do. Each person puts in their own money when they want to come up and take a spin on the machine.
