It sounds like you are a Disney fan. If that is the case then go on the cruise! My wife and I are big Disney fans and have gone on 3 Disney cruises (without our kids) and enjoyed them all very much!

We are DVC members and always fly in the day before. We take the magic express from the airport and then take it back to the airport the next morning. Then we get on the first RCL bus to Port Canaveral. Saves the cost of a rental car on 1st day.

Make a reservation for Solarium Bistro one night. No charge if MTD.

We stayed in cabin 6676 on Oasis and loved it so much we booked it again this year on Harmony! No issues at all with the elevator. What we loved was how close it is to everything we wanted to do. Quick access to the Boardwalk and Aquatheater, 1 level down to the Promenade and 2 levels up to Central Park. We always walked through Central Park twhen we needed to go to the front of the ship. Also quick elevator ride to the Windjammer on deck 16 and to the Main Dining room on deck 5. We also loved going to the back of the ship on deck 5 to sit in the chairs and watch the ocean go by! Also added benefit, this cabin has the bed by the balcony.

We look for a cruise to Cozumel just for Xcaret. Xcaret is a Must Do! Once in the park you can go/do anything you want. Don't miss the underground river through the cenotes. Unbelievable! There are three underground rivers in Xcaret to choose from: the Blue River, the Mayan River, and the Manatee River. Enjoy!

The second half of Cats is much better than the first. Check out the Solarium for breakfast. Much nicer and quieter than the Windjammer. Enjoy your cruise!

Back in the 80's on HAL there was a midnight buffet every evening, and a "show" buffet on the last night - complete with figurines carved out of marzipan, intricate fruit carvings, ornate bread sculptures, and an endless supply of seafood, prime beef (the old "shipboard" carving type), and pastries everywhere. The last true midnight buffet for us was on Princess to Alaska in the early 90's out of San Francisco. On that cruise, there was even a full-blown buffet in the terminal before we boarded.
Don't forget the midnight Chocolate buffet on Holland!

Try the Solarium for a nice relaxed lunch also with great views. We did this last May on Oasis and loved it! Much more relaxed/uncrowded than other places for lunch.

Hi Robyn, I am really enjoying your review! Gives me great memories of last May when I was on QAS! Make sure you try the solarium for breakfast!

Leaving work now, running home, finishing the final packing, grabbing the O-man from school and we hope to be on the highway by 4pm.
I did just get this flash on my phone. One step closer.
On Harmony next Summer. Looking forward to your review. Travel safe!

We were on Oasis in May. Highly recommend Solarium on first day. Loved the buffet and low crowds! Enjoyed breakfast there every morning too!

I agree withAPDMOM, we spent many hours relaxing in the deck chairs deck 5 aft. One of the few covered places you can relax and see the ocean.

A BIG yes vote from me on a summer Caribbean sailing out of FLL. Our first cruise was on the Maasdam to the Eastern Caribbean and also the inaugural year for the Zuiderdam Western Caribbean. We loved both! Since then without HAL, we have had to sail on Disney (too expensive!) and RCL (ships in Caribbean way too big, 6500 passengers!). Bring back HAL in the summer please!
-
We had this on our recent Oasis cruise and thought it was awful! Trivialised a very serious thing.
Agree 100% I saw it on the 5/28 Oasis cruise and thought it was awful.

I used to only sail to the Caribbean in the Summer on HAL. I was also on the inaugural sailing of the Zuiderdam and my kids loved it! Since then we have been forced to sail the Caribbean on either Disney (too expensive!) or RCL (ships too big 6k passengers!). HAL please put a ship in the Caribbean in the Summer! The demand is obviously there with RCL building more and more monster ships!

Yep, Johnny Rockets was open for breakfast and still complimentary.

We were on the same cruise. Windjammer was very crowded but food was very good especially dinner. Food in Main dining room was mediocre. We had a great breakfast and lunch in the Solarium every day. Park cafe was also very good.

Just off the Oasis 5/28 Eastern. I don't know if this is related to either the deck 7 or deck 8 incidents. On Thursday we watched the crew prepare the ship to leave St Maarten. All aboard was 4:30 pm. Around 4:30 a cart drove up to the forward deck exit and 2-3 people brought there luggage off the ship and onto the cart. The people then left the cart and got back on the ship. We continued to watch until close to 5 and the cart and luggage were still there and the people had not come back out yet. We then went to dinner and the captain announced that there would be a delay leaving as there was a mechanical problem they were working on.

Good choice
Harmony Central Park or Oceanview Balcony?

Agree with others, there are not enough places to sit and view the ocean. Used to love the ships with the jogging track and loungers around the entire ship. Ocean balcony for sure!
