So I ended getting covid during the Spain Intensive Cruise, ended in Lisbon on May 19th.

Had mild cold symptoms about 3 days after embarkation, of course had a neg test in Rome the day before getting on. Tested myself in cabin about day 5, negative. Started feeling better, so thought it was just a cold. I did wear a mask throughout the ship and on excursions, and spent two nights in cabin with room service for food.  I have not had covid previously, had 2nd booster a month before the cruise.

About 3 days before the end of the cruise (11 night cruise), I started getting congestion again and feeling tired, but no fever, body aches, etc. The next day I did a test in the cabin, positive. Wrestled with what to do at this point, as we had to be off the ship the next morning at 9am. Finally decided early the next morning to call guest services. They sent someone up around 7am from medical to test my husband and myself. He was negative, I was positive, with pcr tests. They asked me if I wanted to notify the Portuguese officials, I said not. We did buy the vacation protection plan through Azamara. The medical team gave me an official positive result paper. Guest relations said flight changes and extra nights, etc would be reimbursed. We ended up spending an extra 11 days in Portugal, which really messed up my husband's work schedule. I tried emailing Azamara during this period for guidance on cost limitations, procedures, etc, but never received an answer. I finally tested positive on day 11, flew home the next day, finally! My husband never did get sick or test positive, and has not had covid previously as far as we know.

So now have been trying to contact Azamara, no luck so far.

In retrospect, despite having a great time on our trip (first vacation since pandemic started), I would never again travel outside the USA as long as the 1 day negative test regulation is still in affect.

Btw, the crew was great about always wearing their masks, but most passengers did not wear masks, even on the excursion buses. Many, many had horrible coughs and sneezing, so I'm sure I wasn't the only one to get sick, but we will never know I guess!

Where did you stay after the cruise?  I was on the same cruise.  We did wear our masks on the buses, cabs, vans that we had on the trip.  I also wore my mask at the gym when it was busy and someone was next to my on the elliptical etc.

  2. We just got off the Quest yesterday,  We tipped every night at Prime C and Acquilina $10 or $15,  I also tipped the Prime C Bartender $10 every night we were at the bar.  They took great care of us and they deserved the tips.

  3. I have a quickly approaching Baltics Cruise coming up on the Victoria.  Can anyone let me know when Cunard does the Muster Drill?  Thank you in advance.  First time on Cunard.

  4. And Domaine Chandon is definitely not champagne. It's Argentinian sparkling wine. It's ok, but not much better than the standard stuff. The Ultimate package might be good for the extra spirits, but for me I'd rather pay by the glass when I feel like it and save some money. I think the extra wine on offer is quite limited.

Thank you - I looked up the wine offerings on the Utimate Beverage Package - mostly $10 a bottle - maybe $15 tops - nothing over that.

  5. You can have as much sparkling wine as you want whenever you want. There are 2 white wines and 2 red wines per day, which change from day to day (although the waiters can often find you one you liked from another day). There is also a rose and a sparkling wine that remain the same every day. You can have any wine, or any other drink in the included list, at any time from any bar. The only thing you can’t do is order it on room service. If you do, you will be charged.

  6. Hi mp8shnt!

We were on the Quest 12/22 and did purchase this package. Unfortunately we were not able to just pay the difference for the beverage portion. If you enjoy wine, you can always purchase one of the wine packages, or bring wine and spirits aboard to enjoy in your stateroom or take to the dining areas with a corkage. The bartenders were very happy to put together cocktails you will enjoy with the included liquors on the list! Steve did order some extra cocktails that would have been included on the higher list so we just paid the difference. We had a great time and hope you do as well.clear.png?emoji-wink-1685

    Thank you

  7. Has anyone been successful in making a change to the Essentials Package by upgrading the Premium Beverage Package (included) to Ultimate by paying a per diem difference $6 between the package costs?

The Premium Beverage Package included is not bad; however, now the Ultimate Beverage Package includes wines, champagnes, and select waters.

  8. On Quest May 5 in Club Continent Suite. I see the 235 included internet minutes or $150 credit toward an internet package. So the unlimited daily is about $20 per day. So 8 nights is $160, less $150 credit and it's unlimited the whole cruise, correct?

Next I notice the internet minutes are for one device. Does that mean literally one device only on the entire cruise, or does it mean logged in on one device at any time. I will be bringing my iPhone and iPad.

    Thank you,

    Todd

  9. On the Azamara site, Club Continent Suites 6054 and 6056 (Accessible) indicates Stateroom Area:324 sq. ft. Veranda Area:60 sq. ft.

It just seems like simple math. These rooms take up the space of approximately 3 Veranda Rooms. 175x3 then divide by 2. 262.5 Which is about the size of the Club Continent Suites. How are these Accessible CC Suites coming up as 324 and then a 60 sq ft Veranda?

  10. We got the call yesterday from our travel agent. We accepted the upgrade. Then my TA said it would also be offered to our travelling companions! They too took the upgrade!

I forgot to mention - these were upgrades from Balcony Rooms to Club Continent Suites!

  11. Speaking of Lunch Todd, for a change of pace (and at no surcharge) y'all might want to try Seishin for lunch at least once during your cruise. Very quiet and we enjoy the Sushi and intuitive service.

I just don't like Sushi. Looking forward to an in incredible experience on Silver Spirit. I am having a problem getting in to Le Champagne - apparently it is already filled up.
