  1. Only if you want to be. ;)

    DD15 loves her cruises. She always goes to the teen club her first night to find friends to hang around with during the cruise.

    Her older brother does not like to socialize as much. While he enjoys the travel, he would rather be at home with his video games.

    Thank you Boulders. Do you remember if they had a curfew as such? We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise (our first) in August and their curfew time was 1.00 am which everyone was happy with. Our son would sit chatting with his new found friends in the 24 hour Park Cafe so we knew he was ok. He's very grown up for his age, though may have felt otherwise if he wasn't :)

  2. We took a Christmas cruise with our 15 yr old son and 10yr old daughter. The 15 yr old loved it!! There were enough kids to have fun and he enjoyed the freedom. He still has contact with several of the kids he met. The 10 yr old, did not care for her group and only went twice.

    I would be concerned about cruising during school when kids would be scarce. Even at Christmas, there were not a lot of kids. The boat is dead after 10pm. I think the teens liked having it to themselves. :)

    Thank you for your comments. Sounds promising. Will I be tucked up in bed with my cocoa by 10 though? :eek: :)

  3. This may have been posted already and I just missed it but I was wondering if we wait and purchase the drink package inboard, do we pay upfront or does it get charged to our onboard account with final payment at the end of the cruise?

    Thanks for any info!

    Hi, we did this on the Brilliance of the Seas in August. Purchased package from the R Bar in the centrum straight after board. Charged to on board account and payment collected at the end of the cruise. :)

  5. Hi Chris, thanks for carrying out this research for us all. Will be trying one of those chocolate martinis :) Just a couple of questions;

    Would I have to pay separately for an orange juice mixer for a gin & orange?

    Did you sample the house champagne or overhear any comments on it? I'm not overly keen on champagne as little dry (IMHO) so a Cava type alternative would be fine

    :)

    Read your live report MrFunInTheSun - it was excellent, plus you put in all that hard work testing the drink package for all those of us yet to try it! :D

  7. We think IOHO that the package is a good idea. I'm not a big drinker but as they say "when in Rome" and love a cocktail, normally as a treat and this way will be able to try out some that I wouldn't usually go for. Plus over a long dinner it's very easy to consume 2 to 3 glasses of wine. Then there'll be the trip to the R bar, Quill & Compass etc etc.....:D

  8. Re premium drinks package. Carry out an advanced search for live cruise under RCCL and check out page 19 of Mr Fun in the Sun's live cruise on JOS. There is a photo of a menu showing all the different brands of gin, whisky, vodka etc. Couldn't figure out how to copy photo to this thread but if someone else can it will avoid having to do a search each time. I was very pleased to see Bombay Sapphire listed. Now here's a question. I like a BS with orange juice as the mixer. Am guessing I'll have to pay separate for the OJ? :rolleyes:
