  1. After many calls to Crystal by our TA, we reached an experienced person at Crystal who said

"OF COURSE there is wheelchair assistance for embark/debark! And she is henceforth reserving it for me. Bottom line, I think it's safe to suggest that you don't take the first answer from Crystal as Gospel, ask several people and hope you get a holdover from OC, sadly, there are MANY new agents who just aren't familiar with what we have come to expect.

  2. Thank you, Paula, I was hoping someone had "been there done that" and could give some input. This is for Ft.L and getting through the terminal to the ship is my big concern, I can probably handle things on board with a walker with a seat. However I have seen many wheelchairs with Crystal written on the back and guests using them.....as I said, through the terminal is the big issue. Thanks for your help.

  3. Does anyone know about this? My TA has been told by Crystal that there is NO wheelchair service at the Ft L port and that there are NO wheelchairs available on the ship. We have cruised for 30 years on Crystal and have seen many many people going onto the ship in wheelchairs and very many in wheelchairs marked CRYSAL SYMPHONY/SERENITY  Does anyone know what gives? Did Crystal give wrong info (they gave wrong hotel info) or is Manfredi trying to freeze us oldies out? This is critical for us as mildly handicapped to just get onto and off the ship. Thanks all.

I am starting to think about what clothes to pack for my upcoming cruise. I am trying to travel as light as possible.

Is it cold at the restaurants at dinner time? Would a dress with long sleeves from a thin fabric be enough, or should I also pack a jacket or a shawl?

    Thank you!

I'm always cold on the ships. A shawl or pashmina does it for me. I don't wear anything sleeveless, but sometimes short sleeves in daytime, always long at night. I find Waterside especially chilly. DH likes the room like a meat locker.🤣

Where might I find a photo of the room service breakfast menu? Thank you.

I don't have one but I can attest to a WIDE variety of breakfast items, at least as many as you would fine in the  finest hotels and served in style!

We will be boarding Symphony in Athens on April 13/24 for a 12 night Greek Isles/Turkey voyage. When we originally booked this one, it was going to Israel and, of course, we all know how that turned out, but the addition of Kusadasi (and the concert at Ephesus), plus Istanbul, which we have never been to, turned this into a great itinerary. We are doing this B2B with a Tauck Tours Rhone River package and over four weeks we will only have two ports we have visited previously!

Our last time on Symphony was the famous (or maybe infamous) Trans-Atlantic From Hell in September 2012, and we are not hoping for a repeat. Given that there has been very little posted on CC about Symphony of late, I thought I would post our thoughts as we go along. This is a VERY port-intensive itinerary, so this will not be a "Live From", nor will I be posting daily menus/programs, (mostly because I don't have the patience), but if someone has questions, I will try to get answers. No promises, but I will try. 🙂

The bags are almost packed, and the limo arrives at 11:15 Thursday morning! See you onboard Symphony on Saturday!

It will be so nice to hear news of Symphony and crew!

  7. Re new ships - typical Crystal (that we LOVE) but never in  our lifetime, which is getting shorter! We'll never see the new ships but would be happy to sail on the "old ships"!
