We sailed with Uniworld some time ago on the Rhine. This time we want to see Austria and perhaps other countries by river cruising. What is your favorite cruise line for European river cruising? Anything you particularly loved or disliked about specific cruise ships or lines?:)

Not tartanexile81 but am back from the May 20th sailing. I'm a fan of HOHO buses and used them in Dublin, Liverpool and Belfast but chose not to do in Edinburgh and don't think we missed the key sites. We walked the Royal Mile, visited Holyrood Castle and walked up Calton Hill and had a drink in the Grass Market. There is tons to see and take in in the Old Town. I guess we missed the newer area that the HOHO might take you through, but for the limited time you have the Old Town was our priority. For us, we like walking and experiencing the city and I think we made the right choice forgoing the HOHO bus.

How was the HOHO in Liverpool? Did you get off? How long was the whole route?

Has anyone used Uber in Dublin? Is it similar to the US? Did you feel safe? What about the fares and how many can they take? We are a group of 4.

In Dublin, Princess charged $8 each way for the shuttle. We took a taxi which was €18.

Did you prearrange the taxi? If not, how long did you have to wait? How about returning to the ship?

Unfortunately, our Princess cruise in July has us in Dublin from 1:00pm to 1:00 am. Many on Cruise Critic seem to love the HOHO tour in this city, but it ends at 5:30, so it doesn't make much sense for us to take that. I want to purchase tickets for the Book of Kells at Trinity College (which closes at 6:00). Some have said getting tickets ahead of time will save a long line. Does anyone have experience with that? The tickets are for a specific time and I am not sure what time I should get them for, not knowing how to get there (taxi?) or how long it will take once we dock. Any ideas?
