  1. It does. Chef's Table must be arranged with the Maitre'D once onboard. From what I saw, it was limited to six diners per evening. $139.00 pp on our cruise For the Tasting Menu, you can decide once seated. $125.00 PP on our cruise.
  2. They sure do. We created our own "Tasting Menu": three appetizers before our mains. It was perfect.
  3. OUR old eyes, my friend. At the charging box, it's ~1A/5V and at the bedside it's ~2A/5V
  4. Yeah. One would think that being a new ship, they would have at least one USB-PD outlet.
  5. You are a true geek.... I actually unplugged all of my fast chargers before taking the pictures. I didn't want to taint my experiment 🤣
  6. We found the service and offerings outstanding. IMHO, the best meal onboard and worth every penny of the $75.00 pp cover charge.
  7. Absolutely not! We had no trouble getting seated at any of the dining rooms and besides the shortage of sommeliers, the service was outstanding.
  8. On my recent sailing aboard the Beyond, I wanted to test the output of the USB charging outlets in our stateroom, so I brought my Klein USB tester with me and here is what I found: Charging Box: Bedside USB Outlets: As one can see, the amperage output of the bedside USBs are twice that of the charging box. I know....pretty exciting LOL 😂
  9. I'm going to say "Hogwash". We just disembarked on Sunday, and for our sailing we had approximately 2800 guests onboard.
  10. We just disembarked the Beyond on Sunday and can confirm that basic wifi speeds were sub 5Mbps, but those on the premium package were experiencing upload speeds of +20Mbps. What I found interesting was the amount of clients on one single gateway on the Beyond. I ran several scans of the Guest network and found on average 1500 clients connect at any one time.
  11. Being Zeniths, don’t you automatically have access to premium internet? If so, those numbers are horrible in comparison to the premium speeds on the Beyond. I wonder if the backbone wasn’t upgraded to handle the additional bandwidth, thus the slower speeds?
  12. No. You would have to cancel your current reservation, pay the cancellation fee and then rebook at the current rate. Since you stated the cruise is now more expensive, it probably isn’t worth it.
  13. The cover charge allows you access to the restaurant. You can either order from the set menu or choose the tasting menu. The charge for the testing menu is $125.00 per person, but from our understanding, it included the wine pairing. There is no need to book the testing menu in advance beyond your initial reservation. You can do it once you are seated. If you would like to do the Chef’s Table, you would need to set that up with the Maitre D once onboard. The table is limited to six people and the up charge is $139.00 per person. We had dinner this evening in Le Voyage, and we feel it’s the best specialty restaurant onboard. The service and food was immaculate. We set up our own “tasting menu” by ordering two additional appetizers as a third course before our main and paired it with our favorite wines from our premium drink package. It worked out fabulously.
  14. Congrats on booking your first cruise! I believe you and your family will have a wonderful time. The Beyond is an amazing ship. I wouldn’t worry too much about not having a true veranda on this particular cruise, as it’s very port intensive. You’ll barely have time to catch your breath let alone sit out in the veranda for any particular length of time. Save your money and instead book some quality tours (DIY or from Celebrity). Join the roll call for this cruise and see what tours being put together by your fellow cruisers. As an aside, any tour by Rome in Limo will be VERY good. You can order any combination of plates without additional charges. We we’re in Eden last night, and my wife and I wanted to share three appetizers before our mains, so we informed our waiter and voilà!. You can do this at any restaurant on board. I would book specialty restaurants and excursions as soon as you can. They tend to fill up quickly. Look into the specialty dining packages offered by Celebrity. They off multiple day dining packages. Remember that the Beyond has 4 main dining rooms, each with their own theme that you’ll probably want to experience as well. We found them to be very good and with open dining, you won’t need a reservation.
  15. That has not been our experience on this trip. We stayed onboard during our stop in St Maarten and we were connected through Starlink the whole time we were here. This was verified through a speed test.
  16. He will not look out of place. I used to pack a tux with several changes of ties and cummerbunds for all of our cruises. Not any more. Now I just pack a single sports jacket and wear it on chic nights.
  17. We are also currently on board the Beyond. Basic internet using Starlink’s service, is less than 1Mbps down and unusable up. If decent internet is a requirement, you’ll need to upgrade to the premium service. Having said that, text and calls using basic internet is ok (short of texting huge video files).
  18. Another couple for the "Stay on Board" crowd. We'll also be on the Beyond this coming Sunday and have no plans to get off the ship at any of the ports. Been there, done that. This time, the ship is the destination.
  19. Wait...Not arguing, but isn't the purchases made onboard the shops duty free? If so, why declare it?
  20. I have found that the sliding scale is usually set to a number higher than the lowest bid possible (pretty sneeky). Make sure to slide the scale all the way to the left to see what the lowest bid amount is. Sometimes you cannot go lower than the slider shows when you first open the page.
  21. Here's a cool view of the Starlink constellation: https://satellitemap.space/?constellation=starlink
  22. Nice high level review. We're schedule to board her this coming Sunday. Edit: My bad. The grumblings I am hearing are about the last Edge cruise.
