  1. Hi all -

We cruise on the Epic this Sunday. I have a couple of questions.

Shoe organizer ... will it fit on the main door? I usually put it on the bathroom door, but since we have balcony room with the funky bathroom layout, that's not an option.

Towels ... how does NCL handle passing out towels? Need to scan your card, do nothing, write it down on a piece of paper. I've seen all kinds of ways.

Soda drink package... how does this work since NCL gives you a cup? Hand it to the bartender, check your card, what?

  2. Hi all, I just got an email from NCL saying my edocs were ready. When I click on the link under my vacation summary, it opens a new page and says "Unexpected error. Please contact NCL 10000." I am too tired to call at midnight. Anyone know what the problem might be?

  3. That's what I was afraid of. He is adopted. On paper, he is 9, but he is more likely 10. He is very mature and towers over the other kids. He isn't going to be happy mixed in with 6 year olds. On Carnival, I got them to let him be with the older kids group, but I had to sign him in and out. On RC, he turned 9 during our trip, so he got to be with an appropriate age group with signing in and out privileges. He loved that. It won't hurt to ask if he can be with the 10 to 12 year olds on NCL Epic, even if no signing himself in and out.

  4. Just back from my first trip with RC. I knew going in that the ship was not going to have the amenities of the ship I just recently sailed, the Carnival Breeze. However, I was expecting more from service and food.

Some of the food was awful. I ate everywhere... the main dining room, buffet and the speciality restaurants. None of the food wowed me. 2 yucky things stand out in my mind... the hockey puck crab cake and the chicken cordon blue with a broken chicken bone in it to make it look like I guess a chicken leg in the main dining room.

The breakfast buffet food was the same every day. Nothing changed. At least with the Breeze, there was more variety from day to day.

I had major issues with my sea pass card. I had to get a new one SIX times. After a day or so they wouldn't open my door. My son's card had to be replaced twice. We wore them on a lanyard around our necks and put them on the hook when we were in the room.

I think the entertainment was better on the GOS. My child also liked the kids club more than Carnival's.

Favorite employees on GOS... Desmond (entertainment staff) and the guy who stands at the buffet entrance. Mr. Yoo hoo Coca Cola.

There were few kids on this ship, but my son made friends with EVERYONE - kids, parents, staff and even the paid entertainers! If anyone remembers Aiden, I'm his mom.

I was really leaning towards Oasis of the Seas or Freedom of the Seas for my husband's birthday next year, but after telling him about the food and some other things, I'm not so sure. My biggest concern is the food. I'm assuming the food is the same from ship to ship??

  5. We were in the dining room when she became ill. The "Alpha" call was immediate and crew ran to her immediately. We were on the other side of the room so we aren't aware of the nature of the emergency. Our prayers go out to her and her family.

I was on the ship at the same time. I'm not so sure the two incidents are related. I overheard from a RC employee that the lady in the dining room was choking on something and was foaming at the mouth. The captain later said the evacuated patient had internal bleeding.
