  1. I too had been skeptical. But after looking around CC and trying to get a feel, I came to the conclusion that most people to do a lot of complaining. I have done many cruises on RC and Celebrity and being they are more expensive but I could sit and rite many complains about them. I booked Divina with no expectations. As long as the room is clean, food edible, having entertainment, liquor flowing and the sun is shining.....How bad can it be?

My friend once booked a cruise out of New York in November and complained that it was cold and windy with rough seas. Now isn't that a hoot.

  2. I just heard that CC members complained about free shampoo/conditioner and body wash dispensers in the shower. Now you have to be kidding me.If you are so picky bring your own,but don't make a negative comment on a freebie.

  3. Haven't been aboard her yet,but we were docked next to her twice in Italy, last summer.By the way we were on the Carnival Sunshine ,third cruise after drydock. We had very few complaints if any, except that we didn't want to disembark. The MSC Divina is stunning. My DH sees her in Port Miami every Saturday and she is a standout! Can't wait to board and take in all the beauty.12 days and counting.

  4. If you are going to the Port of Miami from Ft Lauderdale Airport they are 25 miles apart. Limos will cost more then 30$ so MSC transportation might not be a bad idea. I have used cruise line transpo several times out of different areas .Sometimes you will get private Van and other times you will be traveling with a bus load and will have to wait for a full bus.

  5. I agree! I have been on CC a long time. I enjoy researching for my upcoming cruises - sharing tips when I can - and meeting folks when we cruise together. . These posters who are rude or snarky to others really disappoints me - people come here for help and to get excited about their upcoming cruises - not for someone to put them down!

Thanks ! We leave in 9 days. A well earned vacation for us all.

  6. I would like to prepay my beverages packages and gratuities. Will my credit card be charged immediately? I'm hoping to keep my shipboard expenses to a minimum.

I just bought my tours and drink package. My credit card was not charged. It will be on my shipboard card.

  7. how do we register using a birth certificate instead of passport? what needs to be in the issue date and expiration date? has anyone experienced this?

Our grandson doesn't have a passport.Just put in 0's in the spot to equal the # on passport and put in O's for the date.It works.Just present Birth Certificate at check in.Have a great cruise

  8. We need more posters like you on CC.When I first joined CC many years ago,the boards were more about sharing(helpful hints) then bragging and complaining about every little thing. The majority of our fellow cruisers aren't posting on CC.It has gotten to the point that I get angry when I read some of these negative posts. We get 2 weeks vacation a year and I surely will not ruin it by nit picking .Just grateful to be able to travel.

    Never had a cruise I didn't enjoy.

  9. We are about 3 weeks away from sailing. When I check in online is that how I get my ticket? How about the baggage tickets, where do I get those?

I booked through MSC and had my e-tickets sent after final payment. The luggage tags are included, but you can always get more at the pier.

  10. This is great! Thank you for sharing! We set sail on her next month on the 22nd...:)

We will be on that cruise as well. Why dont you stop by our roll call and say hello. Beautiful day we had today. Hope our cruise weather is just as great.

  11. It is only on MSC that this happened to me, never on RCL , so bear that in mind.

It happened last year on Carnival Sunshine as well Dry Dock was not completed on time and cruises were cancelled as close as 3 weeks out.So it can happen to any cruise line. How it is handled is another matter.

  12. We did have a couple of cool days, but it felt great to me. Yes the Eataly does have things to purchase.

True Floridian 65 is sweater weather and definitely not bathing suit time. The slide is open on the pool too cold for me LOL.Thanks for info on Eataly. Grandkids will go though The ship looks fab. Western might be warmer then Eastern.

  13. I am bringing my pillow as not flying for this cruise.I am more concerned about the weather. These cold fronts really play havoc with the water temps, both pool and ocean.

One question. Can you purchase food items at Eataly? I am in love with Biscotti.

  14. Sorry you thought the cruise wasn't up to your standards.I have cruised over 30 times and on every standard cruise line except Princess. When there is a sea day the buffet is always crowded.Looking for a table isn't the easiest thing, especially since most cruise lines have eliminated the trays. It is just the way it is.

We always make the best of it,as vacation time is gold to us.Never sweat the little things,If you didn't like the Ruben you could have ordered something else.Did they have a sandwich bar on the buffet? The ship doesn't have an Omlet station due to fact that they were old that the area that was originally designated for one was unsafe,so a new area has o be found.

We were on the third sailing of the Sunshine out of Barcelona last year and their were still many problems to be solved. It takes time and feed back from cruisers to get things in order. No matter what they do they will never please everyone.

  15. Great picture.

Alas, realize my partner and I will LOVE DINNER, AND Dad will eat steak every night! (When we took him to Italy he complained that the pizza was NOTHING like Papa John's..one dad's complaint is another kid's delight!)

Looks like it'll be 5pm buffet for him and he'll keep us company in La Muse while we eat octopus carpaccio. Wonder how my Mom will choose... Tho she's pretty adventurous for 83.

The pizza we had in Rome by the Trevi fountain was awful. Papa John's was better LOL

  16. Well of course you are waiting LOL>> the first 7 night cruise is still at sea

not to mention this board hardly has the numbers of Carnival, RCI etc

the food is very good - what we had on the 3 night

    huge shrimp cocktail...great pastas

they have an everyday menu with a nice steak, salmon, chicken etc dishes

We have spoken to someone who was on the cruise.Grandparents, parents and young children. They are Italian and also thought the food was excellent.

My grandson just began trying new foods and cant wait to dig into that shrimp cocktail and try lobster.First MSC cruise on Poesia 2 years ago we told him Chef Boyardee was the chef so he would eat.LOL
