I know we are not in the majority but i agree.  First, Aqua 80 is the best show on Oasis, and the best Aqua show of the ones that I've seen overall.  But I also really enjoyed Cats. Saw it once + the first half of another showing (and only couldn't see the whole thing since had to get ready for dinner).  The cast that we saw is amazing, set done well, costumes great, etc.  To me, the trick was reading / researching the story beforehand, plus I learned some of the music.

Knowing the story definitely helps. I wish they would change the creepy segment early on when all of the cats together explain the plot. It was too long, and very hard to understand with so many talking in unison. Having the whole cast sing in a big chorus sounds great, but having them talk at the same time does not work so well. If they changed that scene to one actor saying those lines, or multiple actors taking turns one at a time, I think it would help a lot.

  2. We were recently on Oasis and were able to see Cats twice. There were at least 3 showings. A few people did walk out of the shows, but not many. Both times we saw it they received a standing ovation at the end. No standing O for our viewings of Sky nor the Ice skating show. There is no question that the best show on the ship is Aqua 80, but I woud place Cats as the second best. I do have a question for the all the Cats haters out there that do not understand the plot (yes, there is one), could you please explain the plot of Aqua 80 to me? Or of Sky? Thanks!

I would suggest emailing the email address or calling the phone number on that page if planning a visit. That address on that page could be new information or dated information.  I notice it says Michael Swan Gallery II. Does he have two gallery’s?

I do not know. I thought I would help out with a quick Google search, but after 15 minutes of digging that was the best I could find. I hope the OP follows up and lets us know!

I believe the central park balconies ending in 29. They are next to the living wall.

Looks great. Those are at the back of the ship, correct? Near the opening to the outside world? Would that also alleviate the hot, humid & stuffy problems others have mentioned?

Op since you booked do far in advance were you able to get the extra large balcony?? We like trying different rooms for our fall sailings (we cruise 2 times a year) Was able to snag one of the extra large balconies for oct 2020 oasis.

May I ask which cabins on Oasis have these extra large balconies?

  6. When you go into the “Fun” mini-golf place at the Dockyard, you literally walk right through the middle of the course. Plenty of time to look it over and see for yourself before even reaching the check-in area and deciding whether or not to pay and play.

  7. Savory Bites?

We followed the advice on this thread during our recent Anthem cruise and made a special request for Savory Bites in the MDR. Our waiter told us he would have to check, but that at least one other table had made the same request earlier in the cruise and the kitchen was able to make it for them. We felt so special when the next night Savory Bites were delivered to our table. They looked a little plain. Small, wedge shaped bread with poppy seeds. We took a bite and, huh? Chewy yes, but in a familiar not so great sort of way. We tried again and had to think but then we saw it. Savory Bites are nothing more than old bagels! They are not sliced the normal way, but rather cut into about 10 wedge shaped slices (like a pie) and then toasted. No wonder they so often serve poppy seed as they are probably most likely to be left over each morning after breakfast.

So there you go. Now you too can make authentic RCI Savory Bites at home.

It's probably the best roast beef sandwich you'll ever have! On some sailings they've been a little skimpy with the beef, but you can always order 2 :classic_biggrin:

My favorite on the ships, though, is the sweet cranberry breakfast bread - i have a total mind block of the name, but it's amazing.

Which dining venue serves the Sweet Cranberry Breakfast Bread?

  9. We went there a few years ago and had a great time paddleboarding amongst some sea turtles. Beautiful calm water and close to the cruise ships. We took a funky “train” to get there. Did not notice a smell. Is that something new or maybe just depends on which way the winds are blowing?

I hope they are successful with the place!

They told me that all drinks were included and it sounded like all dining too, but not that you’re saying that, perhaps I misunderstood them. We were at the character breakfast, which we paid we paid extra for, so perhaps that’s the kind of thing they meant.

Specialty dining, fancy coffees, character meals were extra. Standing in line to get character signatures was free. All shows, MDR, buffets were included, but that is similar to other cruise lines. It is quite possible to enjoy a cruise without paying for any extras, but to truly get all-inclusive you would have to go a lot higher than Disney or RCL.

Someone mentioned it to us onboard. I never realized, but they said Disney was all inclusive. So no add-one. Had I known that before I booked, I probably would have chosen them to begin with. I assumed it was a premium price and then more for everything else on top of that.

I am not sure what you mean. Every mass market cruise line has add ons you can opt for. For example, Disney has some high end specialty dining you can pay for — if you want an upgrade over their very nice MDR’s. What did you mean by all inclusive?

Well, that is unfortunate. Based on the experience of others, I thought perhaps ours was unusual. We sailed Celebrity years ago and they were great. I think we will try them again. Or do a Disney Cruise while our daughter is still young.

Do Disney, she won’t be young forever. Plenty of time to sail Celebrity when you are old and the kids have moved away.
