That is not cool that you are wishing that the Alaska 2021 season will be cancelled.  If you dont want to go then lift and shift or pay the $100 change fee.   There are many people who are hoping for an an Alaskan season including businesses in Alaska.   Before my scheduled cruise in Alaska, I was planning to spending multiple nights in hotels there and enjoy the food and take local tours.

So far lift and shift only allows until April 2022 so it does not include Alaska. We tried it showed the 2022 dates on our cruise planner but now it shows 2021 again. When I called they said it is still being reviewed. Our best chance at a refund is Canada staying closed yes sad for business there but many businesses where I live have closed too it's just what is happening right now.

Whether that is because they actually extended it which is contrary to the current terms posted or it’s an error in their programming that automatically allows you to se options (but it could very well be denied) remains to be seen.

Please report back if it is successful.

Here are the current terms that have not been updated.

Guests are eligible to move their reservation under the Lift & Shift guidelines between now and November 30, 2020 to sailings departing through April 2022 only. After this point, Lift & Shift will expire and is no longer available.

Royal is now showing the 2022 dates under our future cruises. When I looked at lift and shift a few weeks ago it said our cruise wasn't eligible but when I looked yesterday it gave options. We haven't received anything saying it went through but in the system it has switched to 2022. We are traveling with in laws and her Dr will not let her travel yet so hopefully this works the new prices are a bit higher.

But is that a 5-day cruise? I thought Navigator was only 3 and 4 night cruises, so I was surprised. I am still wondering who/what is a “Royal Strategic Manager”.

You are correct we actually have Dec 18th for another 3 nights booked too. I wonder if she is an employee and that is when they hope to the the employee "practice" cruises so they can still do the Holiday cruise?

RCL Oct released info Sunday. Start Dec 18th. Google the release information.

However. Guess you will have a stupid looking sun tan at the pool. here is one of the rules.

    Face Masks
Face masks are required in all areas of the pool deck unless you’re in the water, where you should continue to observe physical distancing

I googled Royal cruise restart but find nothing official do you have a link?

  5. We have a 12/13/2020 Oasis and hope to wait. No way to know for sure but I looked at the last round of cancellations and they were given a window after to move theirs. I am hoping that is the case again because we really want to shift to next year IF this year doesn't go but we are also ready to go if they do.

To be eligible, guests must move their booking on or before November 30th, 2020.

This does help us!! We have Oasis booked 12/13/2020 if it goes we will sail but if not we want to lift and shift. I wanted to wait and see but was worried it would be cancelled after the September 30th lift and shift end. I am relieved lift and shift has been extended.

I've seen some who think maybe 2 ports out of florida only, trial balloon. Not all. They might be able to put together enough crew for a couple of ships.

This would be my uneducated guess IF there is cruising it will be 2-3 ship between Port Evergaldes and Miami now which ships is anyones guess? midsized ships shorter cruises? Oasis class but shorter cruises? Time will tell!

So why did you let this (banging around) bother you..close or re-latch it yourself or ask your steward to do it ??

We did relatch it I was responding to yes in fact it COULD be a safety issue if someone was on the balcony which is why some captains on some sailings MAY not allow them to be open. The banging was mostly at night and we did get up and shut it a couple times then reopen it in the morning it was loud enough to wake us up on more than one occasion. Again it was about WHY this may or may not be allowed.

    • Thanks 1
  9. It's not about the size of the balcony it's the banging around and possible sliding of the partition. We were near the front on Liberty and we had such high winds ours came unhooked and actually slid back and forth. It could definitely be a safety issue. The winds were so crazy my husbands sea pass slipped out of his hand on our balcony deck 12 was blown we thought out to sea but somehow it landed on an open deck and was returned to customer service about the same time a new one was being issued. I would have never believed it if it hadn't happened to us.
