Thinking of taking my grandkids. They are 10 and 6. They like to swim, but are not swimmers. The waterworks looks like it is very shallow and the slides look big. Do you know much about this?
Also read the barrier around the ship block ocean breeze especially in the adult area. Is this true?

Bumping this up because I can't find consistent answers. Is Independence pools heated all the time or just where it's departing from

Google out hotels with free cruise shuttle. Comfort Suites airport now does it. LaQuinta airport east also does. I've stayed at LaQuinta when they were the only one. Nice hotel, but not around anything, so eat at the airport before going to hotel. Really good free breakfast.

In St. Thomas take a taxi to Magean's Bay. Arrange for him to come back and get you, and on the way back make a stop at Mt Top and there was another stop where we looked over the city and ocean where the cruise ship was. The taxi guys are their way of making money.

I like the looks of the new format. Everything was squished together on the old one. Now I can look just at the categories I'm interested in.

Yes, and the Solarium pool too.
Are there any other ships that have heated pools?

I needed to use a restroom in Old San Juan. The resturant I went to wouldn't let me because I wasn't a customer. They pointed me down the street to a public bathroom. You're supposed to tip, but don't have to.

Is the indoor family pool heated?

Someone gathering tips for the porters? Is this new?

My granddaughter will be turning 4. Looks like you got a great price. Enjoy the cruise.

first week Dec 4(?) Explorer sailing to the ABC's again in 2020.
That is the itinerary I was looking at! It's over my granddaughter's birthday and wasn't sure about the price, but will keep early Dec. in mind.

The ocean is rather big. Which location?
Southern Caribean

Does the ocean seem colder then or is it about the same year round?

How did you get around Rome and Florence? Did you see the Leaning Tower of Pisa?
-
I'm thinking of Spencer, but not liking 4-5 hours at the beach if not much shade.
-
what tour would you take to see the Pitons? I get sick easily but REALLY want to see the Pitons. I understand there's a beach there, but you get mobbed by locals.

Why would they cancel shore excursions on Coco Cay but keep waterpark open? Did they offer a refund to those who didn't want to swim in crummy weather?
-
Sorry to hear about the pirate ship on Coco Cay. I thought my grandkids might enjoy it. They don't like getting splashed at on splash pads

Hotel Milano

Similar (but not identical) to what has been done to other Voyager class ships. More staterooms, less public space, carnival rides, changes to specialty restaurants.
Carnival rides?

Google out the La Quintas. One of them has a free shuttle to the hotel and port. It also has a free breakfast that's good. There isn't anything nearby, so eat at the airport before getting on the shuttle to go to the hotel.

Hotel Milano - another hotel in Old San Juan - very close to the forts

I've only done Majesty and then Adventure. I think it's good to go from small to a little bigger. Everything seems so big, not sure how I could jump to an Oasis. I also don't like the idea of reservations. Just read a review on Allure that said if you didn't have a reservation you didn't get in; no stand-by line. Also, it seems if you're on the bigger ships you need to pay for some app, so you know what's going on. I don't want to pay for that and I don't have a smart phone.
