Early Disembarkation in Papeete?

We will be docking in Papeete at 6 pm on a Saturday evening next March. Air France has an 8:25 AM flight on Sunday to LAX. The next time they fly is Wednesday and we do not care to stay over for 3 days.

Does anyone have any experience getting off very early in order to make this flight? I understand about early disembarkation if the ship is actually docking in the morning, but what about when the ship has overnighted in port?

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Should be no problem at all IF you arrange for it ahead of time (with Oceania office). You can disembark at 5 AM to make the 8:25 flight. I would arrange for transportation (taxi) ahead of time as you are not likely to find taxis there at that hour.

We docked at 6 PM as well and we disembarked that same evening after dinner for a 11:30 PM flight rather than the next morning and then waiting till 11:30 PM to fly home.

That's also not a bad idea. We will have been on board for 32 days and leaving one night early won't be a deal breaker. Thank you!

I guess it depends on whether you want to fly overnight (and sleep on the plane) or a daytime flight (and sleep on the ship).

We had no choice as we flew on TN for miles and evening flight was the only option.

A reliable transfer service is Carl, we used him for our airport arrival and early a.m. departure carls.cab@mail.pf

Thanks for that tip. We will be flying overnight regardless of when we leave. If we do the daytime flight to LAX, it will be a red eye from there to get home so no really good options. It's shorter than getting to Sydney in the first place though!!
