MNgardens Posted January 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2015 Thinking about boarding in St Maarten around 1 pm in order to get rid of luggage. Is lunch available on the ship or should we look for lunch elsewhere? Would there be restaurants in the area? Thanks.
r&rd Posted January 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2015 A light lunch is usually provided in the Veranda when you board - sandwiches, salads and pasta.
stcruise Posted January 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2015 A few photos of the welcome aboard lunch. This was on the Wind Star, but probably something similar on the Wind Surf.

stcruise Posted January 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2015 We had two different pastas also. Here is my plate with one of them. I have always been pleased with the welcome aboard lunch offerings.
MNgardens Posted January 5, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Thanks for the help! We have always arrived mid afternoon and never had looked for a lunch offering. The photos are making me hungry!
Crusin Kelly Posted January 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Once we get all checked in and get lunch, would there be time to go back on shore for a little shopping before the ship leaves in the evening ? Or get checked in, and go back a-shore ? would all depend on when the plane arrives and when we get to the ship, one would guess... Kelly
Pudgesmom Posted January 6, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 6, 2015 I'm don't know your sailing time, but the water taxi to Philipsburg and the shopping on Front Street is quick and convenient to the ship. We dropped our luggage off last year at the ship and then did some shopping for an hour or two before reboarding.
