Hi Alexis, thanks for the list, however, I'm not sure how accurate it is since you can schedule cruises on Voyager in February 2008. I'm assuming if it was going into drydock, they would have those dates blocked out.

Exactly! This list has not been the most accurate, but it has been the only list I have seen posted.

At times a problem arises on a ship and they take her in early to fix them. So, the schedule gets changed around a lot.

Anyone have a newer Dry Dock schedule since February of 2006, please post it. ;)

I'm sure I've seen info that Serenade is in drydock 2/2008 for about 3 weeks.

I just checked.

Her last cruise is Feb. 2. and then not until March 8. Could be. ;)

WoW ! ! Thanks Alexis . . .

Thanks for posting that !

That may come in handy for 2008. . .

Radio

;) ;)

Please remember. This was first posted in February 2006 and as far as I know there has never been a new one posted since?? I know some of these have changed when the Pods had to be replaced or whatever. ?

These three new dates will come in handy.

I am hoping maybe someone else will see this and give us some more. :D ;)

I'm on the Serenade right after it gets out of dry dock. We leave on 3/8/08. I wish I had known that the ship was going to be in dry dock when I booked as I might have picked dates a little more after dry dock in case there are any unresolved issues.

It's interesting that the Brilliance and Radiance are also scheduled for drydock this spring, along with the Serenade. I wonder if there is a specific upgrade they are giving all of that class of ship....

I believe they are installing some new diesel engines alongside the gas turbine ones as they are very expensive to use especially for docking. Maybe someone with more technical expertise can explain this better.

The Jewel is having this done in dry dock in October just before she returns TA, so it makes sense the other Radiance class vessels will follow suit. We will be boarding Jewel after she returns to FL.:D

Alexis: mcca2 has it correct. All Radiance class ships will have a 'Diesel Generator' installed along side their Gas Turbine engines. This new 'power plant' will be in use during entry and exit from ports as well as for power generation for the ship while in port (these are the times when the gas turbines are not efficient to operate).

The Jewel is the 1st Radiance class ship to have the new power plant retrofit. She comes out of dry dock on 10/30/07 for this years TA (Southampton to Ft Lauderdale).

cleob: As you can see from my signature, we are on the 1st cruise after the Jewels retrofit, which also happens to be the 1st retrofit that they are attempting. IF there is going to be a problem, I suspect we will be dealing w/ it..............;) While RCI does not have the best track record for ships coming out of dry dock (and realizing that other things are being done besides the retrofits), would assume that the exact same retrofit will only become easier as they go along!!!

Barb: While it is true that we are on the first sailing after the Jewel dry dock (which includes the retrofit), they are installing "a system of redundancies" in essence, which means that if all fails, they can revert to the original propulsion/power systems. In talking w/ the Jewel staff on last years TA, these retrofits were originally designed into all of the Radiance class ships, which 'should' mean all is in place for a smooth transition..................;)
