You have a great attitude, thanks for sharing this!

So....because I have never sailed out of NYC before but will next week.....do I really now have to worry about my luggage being tossed in the Hudson?? I already stress about EVERYTHING before vacation, but this was not (yet) on my list of concerns. I will have to add it.... :)

Ha ha, only if you joke and laugh about it on the concourse first.

I'm reading more about it on the FB roll page, another person explained all her luggage was dumped in the river, but some retrieved, and another poster saw it happen. [emoji35]

She said they stared at it before they tried to fish it out.

NCL didn't tell me that BB8 drowned, just that they stopped looking and credited us $100 on day 2, so apparently they knew we wouldn't find it.

I also found out that Olaf from Frozen died along with BB8, so he's not alone down there.

We were on the 10/8 sailing as well. I will say that we are 1st time NCL cruisers (having been on a Disney Cruise 2yrs ago). Nothing, and I mean Nothing will ever compare to the service & food quality of Disney. So, needless to say, this was disappointing for us. We were in the Haven and it was perfect for not having to wait in line & go through the nightmares of waiting etc. We were off the ship at 7:45 this morning. It was very choppy and I ended up sick almost the entire vacation. There just wasn't a wow factor with food or service...even in the haven. I'm sad & shocked to even have to say that. I'm working on an indepth review & have already put up some Youtube videos of our room, etc.

I"ve cruised Princess without kids, NCL without kids, and Disney with kids. Disney was ok - but for the price, man was I expecting more as far as food quality, service. But it did have Elsa, and I loved the shows (and loved that my 3 and 5 year old could go to them and enjoy them as well.) But aside from that, it was ok. Girls didn't love their famed kids club either - which was a bummer.

So now I've got my expectations in check as we sail for a full week on Breakaway in a mini-suite with free drinks (and the same package as OP) for less than what it would cost to do a 3 nighter on Disney with no alcohol (and yes, that adds up for us!). So, this time I'm managing my expectations. But if they throw one of my suitcases over I"ll be pissed.

Enjoyed the review! We go in a few weeks - but you must be a pretty easy going person. 100$ for a suitcase full of stuff? I would die! (Or they would, when I calculated what was in my suitcase!)

Oh if it was MY suitcase, I would have been pissed, this was my 9 yr old son's case. It literally just had shirts, shorts bathing suits and pants In it. Everything else, undies, pjs, socks, iPad, stuffed animals was in another case. I estimate d $175. I will just try out that fancy insurance I paid for and see if I can recoup the rest.

But, yes I am super easy going and not easily frazzled.

We got 3&4 th passengers free, plus free UBP, 10 free photos, free phone calls, 100 OBC, $50 casino credits, 100 mins internet free. & mini suite for $2700. I can't even imagine what a cabin for 4 on Disney with a drink package for 7 days would cost. Because of all this I can look the other way on service and froo froo food. I guess it's just what is more important to you.

It's a great perk. You can pick any 10 photos from your portfolio for free! Take a bunch of photos, we barely had 10 to choose from.

Good news, I put a claim in with the insurance company 2 days ago for the lost luggage and they paid the full amount of the claim even though NCL gave me onboard credit! Yay!

That is great. Did you have NCL insurance? What proof did you have to send the insurance company?

No I had Alliance. When the luggage was lost, NCL had me fill out and sign an itemized claim form. They gave me a copy of that and a letter stating the luggage was lost. That was all I needed to submit. It was easy least!
