patcacmt Posted September 29, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2018 Hello - does anyone know if we can bring a WiFi router on board in our luggage? We don’t intend to use it on the ship, but we will be spending a week at WDW beforehand and will use it in our room. I didn’t see it on the list of prohibited items, but other techie-type items are so I thought I’d check.

Not sure anyone here knows. At worst, they would hold it for you to pick up at the end of the cruise (as long as you remember it).
moki'smommy Posted September 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2018 As you noted, it isn't listed as prohibited. And, as Shmoo said, worst case is that they'll hold it for you till disembarkation. Just curious, why do you need it at WDW? All our rooms for the past many years have had wifi. patcacmt Posted September 29, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted September 29, 2018 It’s a secured WiFi network and my daughter just feels more comfortable using it. Not recently, but a few times in the past, she’s had to bring some work with her and didn’t want to have to rely on the resort network.

cyclenut Posted October 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2018 It should be OK. Most electronics are allowed. It's unlikely they will even know what it is when they xray it. Would not hurt to ask of course. I'm sure that if you are bringing it, you know how to configure it and use it, but I have never seen the need. I also have done work on my company laptop while on vacation, but we have a system that encrypts communication between the laptop and the company network to prevent (well limit really) issues from a public WiFi network.
