Want to do Countryside in Rome

Here is my dilemma, been to Rome twice. Have tour reserved, its 9 hours, looking to do 3-4 hour tour. We want to do some wine and olive oil tasting. Any suggestions. Tour company will still charge same amount as 9 hour. Should I just hire a cab in port for tour???

Any of the tour operators can provide you a custom half day tour. It is a matter of contacting them.

The favorite of this forum (and mine too) is romeilimo.com. They are easy to communicate with and will be more than happy to custom build a tour for you. they have done that for me several times.

We would never recommend hiring a taxi for a day-long tour. With a taxi you are really gambling on the skills of the taxi driver. In many cases they will speak very little English and they are not professional guides. If you want to hire a driver/guide for the day it is best to arrange it in advance.
