Day 1 on Dream - Lunch in Dining room

Lunch is served in Enchanted Garden and in Cabanas (on the pool deck) as well as from the fast food outlets on the pool deck. Both Enchanted Garden and Cabanas are buffets with a wide variety of offerings. We like to sit down and have our beverages served to us (including refills.) It is less hectic than on the pool deck, and we have no need to be the first in the pool or to enjoy the view of the cruise terminal/dock area.

If you have kids who want all kinds of stuff (one wants real food, another wants a burger, etc. ) you might do better on deck 9.

I've never seen a menu for the buffet, but I've never lacked for more than sufficient choices. And GREAT ice cream! This in Enchanted Garden. Serving in Enchanted Garden is start of boarding till 2 pm (you can be eating after 2, but the lines are closed). Serving on pool deck continues till about 3:30. Room service is also available 1:30-3:30 and re-opens after the muster drill.

Thanks! I just saw in a Navigator that the dining room open is Enchanted Garden. I didnt realize it would be a buffet though. I was hoping for a sit down option for lunch for that 1st day. That's usually what we like to do. Is there a difference in the buffet in the Enchanted Garden and Cabanas? Is the only difference in the dining room that your drinks are served to you?

There are actually more options in Cabanas, but it is also more crazy. I've never lacked for "enough" choices at Parrot Cay or Enchanted Garden (depending on which ship...only one restaurant is open on each ship).

I never saw the GOOD ice cream in Cabanas, but it might have been there (can't claim to have seen everything). In Enchanted Garden, there were separate dessert and food lines; dessert was being served on a "point to it and they plate it for you" system. But yes, the basic difference is that in EG, you are escorted to a table and your beverage order is taken. You can shove your carry on bags under the table and go to the buffet...and we never feel uncomfortable leaving our stuff there.

On the Fantasy, EG did not wait for the posted hours; they were open by about 11:30. Again, other experiences may vary.
