Narina Posted May 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Hi all here is my album. It is a work in progress. I will apologize now the pictures are not in any order and there are alot of them. I have spent the past few days uploading and then cutting it down from over 500 pictures to almost 300. I will be working to get them in order and hopefully cutting down the size a bit. Anyways I wanted to post what was up there so far. http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb58/Aprile421/
NurseBeth Posted May 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Thank you SOOO much for posting up your pics! I am also a Glory bride, and it's great to see pics of the ceremony & reception. I'm assuming that was the Green Room that the ceremony was held in? Wow....those candles in the White Heat disco are pretty far out....I am definitely leaning more towards the piano player now. Was that the Piano Bar that you took pics next to the piano in? It's gorgeous! How was the food? Was the cake good? (sorry for all the questions!!!) It looks like you had a GREAT time!!!! Congratulations!!!
Narina Posted May 16, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted May 16, 2007 No the piano pics were taken in the hallway near the casino. Be forwarned. The Piano Bar is very red and small. The disco is kinda out there but to be honest we didn't even pay attention as we were too busy. Our guests liked having the music and the space. We had a private cocktail party in the piano bar on the last sea day. Im not sure if I have any pictures from there or not. I honestly haven't even went through the trip pictures yet. We had over 1000 wedding pictures to go through before I could even think of going through trip pics. BTW those are a mix of pro and other peoples pics. I haven't had time to seperate them yet. Congratulations!!! The food was really good. The cake honestly I did not get a good taste as you can see by the pics my DH decided to place it up my nose instead of in my mouth. Everyone else said it was good. The ceremony was in the green room and while I did not care for the decor or the color there wasn't much I could do about it and to be honest once the ceremony started I did not even see the room. The ceremony and the officant were very nice and more than made up for the garish room. Same with the White Heat it was a tad out there but to be honest most of the rooms on the Glory are a little out there.
Narina Posted May 16, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Looks like you had a great time! Congratulations and thanks for sharing the pics! Your dress is beautiful. Did you get your hair done on the ship? Thank you. I did not get my hair done on the ship, I had it done at Brent Allen Salon. I wasnt happy with the way it turned out on the wedding day but I did not have enough time to do anything about it so went with it. My hair trial had came out much better and alot different than what I had on my wedding day. Also during the security check to get in the port the security officer tried to rip my tiara off thinking that it wasnt attached. So all day it flipped and flopped because we couldnt get it to pin back the way it was supposed to be. My curls and my bangs just fell I guess to the humidity but oh well. NurseBeth Posted May 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 17, 2007 OMG I would have punched the security guard in the face for that one! Guess I wouldn't be cruising if I did that though!! I hear alot about Brent Allen...is that something that is set up through TWE, like their salon of choice? I have no idea how I'm going to get my hair done the day of the wedding. And I'm beginning to realize that having my wedding aboard a cruise ship means that the rooms are pretty much gonna be "out there" a little bit! Haha! Oh well....the important part is you're married right?! :D
Narina Posted May 17, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted May 17, 2007 I made my own appointment at Brent Allen based on other Port Canaveral brides referals. They will set up a 8:00am appointment the day of the wedding with you and you can go in get it done in time. I was done at 9:30. Just be aware they are about 15-20mins away from the port. We had a limo so he picked me and my girls up at 7:30am and we stopped and got coffee on the way. Went and got our hair done while he waited then went back to the hotel and picked everyone up in the limo and went to the port. One suggestion is if you get a limo take into consideration the amount of luggage you are going to have. I was lucky that one of my friends had her SUV and took some of the excess that wouldn't fit in the limo. About the colors of the rooms and such. They kind of look worse in the pictures than they do in person. Not meaning that they get alot better but they are a little better. And honestly once everything starts you hardly even notice it. Here and there you think Whoa! but on the grand scheme of the day its just a little thing. I will be honest and say I think the Spirit had much prettier decor. But DH wanted the Glory so we picked the Glory. It was picked on convience to guests, price, Itenary more than the decor. We knew we would have a great day no matter what. The coordinators and officiant and staff were just awsome. I can not say enough good things about the Glory overall its a fantastic ship if you can get passed all the Color. NurseBeth Posted May 17, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 17, 2007 Thanks for the tip on Brent Allen & luggage! Yes....when I was younger (I am now 29) I used to think I wanted this huge elaborate, complicated wedding. Now I just want to marry my best friend. I know that the day will be really special no matter whether I get married in a green room or a red room. :D Let me know if you add more pics to your page. I would love to see them! Was your stateroom nice?
ShedQueen77 Posted May 17, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 17, 2007 I love your dress!! The flowers on the pedestals added a very nice touch to your decor. Congratulations! :) We're going to book a cruise on Glory for 2009. Did you sail the Eastern or Western Caribbean route?
Narina Posted May 17, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted May 17, 2007 We did the Western route. My room was 8457 Veranda deck Aft cabin. Nice room. Only thing was you could hear the chairs in the morning. Not bad but you did notice it once in awhile. DH and I liked the room so much we are booking it again for one of the sister ships. We had almost the whole aft section of the ship with friends and family I think there was one cabin that wasn't our group plus the 2 wrap arounds. Our balcony appeared bigger than the ones more to the center of the ship. Carnival will tell you they are the same size. But we had the balcony next to the wrap arounds on the port side of the ship and my in laws had the balcony next to the wrap around on the starboard side and both of ours were a bit bigger than my fathers and brother in laws who were towards the middle. We noticed this only seems to be on deck 8. My son had a inside room and while it was nice it did seem small. A few of our friends had oceanviews and they loved them the only thing was they weren't on our deck. But that really wasn't a problem.
vtoria98 Posted May 17, 2007 #12 Share Posted May 17, 2007 The balcony on 8457 is a lot bigger, by about 5' on the side. We were able to fit 3 adults (laying in the sun) and 4 chairs on it without feeling cramped. I am glad you posted your pics, they are beautiful. TygerPawz Posted May 20, 2007 #13 Share Posted May 20, 2007 Wonderful pictures!!! I have some questions on them, though (I'm a big photog freak, so I want some great pics!). How long did the pics take? Did you choose where to take the pics or did the photographer? Could you go anywhere on the ship to take the pictures? Also, did you wear your dress all night? I just got mine, and I want to wear it every day all day!!! :)
Narina Posted May 20, 2007 Author #14 Share Posted May 20, 2007 Wonderful pictures!!! :) Pictures were an all day affair. We started right before the ceremony at 1:00pm and didn't finish until well after 5:30pm and that was after me saying enough. They do pictures all over the ship and you can request what ever you like. They also do studio portraits as well. Be warned it is alot of smiling and posing. The pictures I have up is not even 1/4 of what we have we have well over 1000 photos. I took my dress off before dinner at around 6:30 or so. I loved my dress as you can see from the pictures there is alot of beading and detailing on it and the train was pretty big. It was very very heavy. After the reception it was hurting my back pretty bad. During the muster drill I sat on the ground because I just couldn't hold me and it up anymore. The last part of the pictures were hard for me because my dress was just wearing me down. Advice if you plan to wear it all day get a light material dress. Narina Posted May 22, 2007 Author #17 Share Posted May 22, 2007 Thank you! I really loved my dress. I did the Deluxe with hour and half open bar. We also had the DJ.
TygerPawz Posted May 24, 2007 #18 Share Posted May 24, 2007 I had to put this down, because I saw the post about the limo... There is a limo company in Brevard County called Hot Rayz Limos, and in addition to the limo for transfers to the Port they have a trailer they tow behind it for all your luggage, so you can enjoy the limo ride without having to worry about limiting your luggage or where it is going to go! hotrayzlimos.com PS - I am near the Port, let me know if you need any more help! serene56 Posted May 27, 2007 #20 Share Posted May 27, 2007 another picture question-- we took the delux package also our groomsmen are leaving the ship after the reception-so how will that work with photos-- will the photgrapher make them leave the reception to get pics done--or can it be done before the ceremony? how much time between the time your reception was over til the muster drill? the grooms tux is going home with the grooms men. Narina Posted May 27, 2007 Author #21 Share Posted May 27, 2007 We did some pictures with the wedding party right after the ceremony. During the reception we only did candids and a couple of posed shots with our non sailing guests. The reception is so short that if you do your portraits during your going to miss it as moving around the ship takes alot of time. Also my DH would have had no time to change his clothes before the reception ended and the guests debarking. Muster is not long after the guests leave. I would say maybe 30 mins later. Between the reception ending and muster was when the photographer had us doing family shots and some posed shots with just DH and I. After the Muster he had us all come back family included to do portraits. He let the family leave before sail away but DH and I were still doing portraits during the sail away. I was a little disappointed I missed that. All said I would say we spent atleast 4 hours just on posing for pictures alone. P.S. Just a suggestion but you might want to look into the groom keeping his tux for the cruise. Most of the pictures are done after the reception I would say 75% if he doesnt have his tux you are going to miss out on some great shots. They take you to the staircase and the decks after the reception for pictures.
stevesgirl1111 Posted May 27, 2007 #22 Share Posted May 27, 2007 serene56- I agree with Narina on having your DH keep his tux. Not only will you miss great pictures but your new husband may have to miss some of your already short reception to go change. Our non-sailing guests had to leave about 20 minutes before our reception was over so there is no way my husband could have gone to change. Also, we wore our wedding clothes to dinner that night which was so much fun and my husband wore his tux to formal nights. Just something to think about... Schasz Posted June 4, 2007 #24 Share Posted June 4, 2007 to keep the tux for the week will cost mucho deniros.. he got a nice suit to wear at night I know that our future son in law plans on keeping his rental tux for the entire cruise. Since we cruise once or twice a year then I decided that I will buy my tux from the place he decides to rent from...then I will have my attire for the formal nights. Steff781 Posted June 4, 2007 #25 Share Posted June 4, 2007 My fiance is also keeping his tux for the week. It will only cost him an extra $30. Also, he's going to use his best man's vest for formal night and I'm going to wear my maid of honor's dress!
