We just got back from the Sun. I will be posting a review soon (have to unwind first).

I have all the Freestyle Daily's and can scan them in if anyone needs them. Let me know!

Yes, please!!!

Were you going to post them, or would it be more convenient to email them to us anxious folks?

Thanks!

Balcony room 8021 – Room was OK.. probably the worst one we have had on a cruise. The layout wasn’t very good and our door to the balcony kept sticking. The décor seemed old and dated. The showers are very, very small and they have a fabric curtain that sticks to you as you shower. We only saw our steward once in the hall and had to remind them to fill our coffee (there are small pots in the room) and shower gel.

Ship – Overall the ship was nice. Small, but nice.

Food – We aren’t much for dining in the restaurants on a regular basis, so we ate at odd times during the day.

Room service was very limited and we only ordered coffee.

Buffet was very bad, probably the worst we have had on any cruise line.

Midnight buffet in the casino from 11pm-1am. They usually have finger sandwiches, cookies, pastries.

Chocolate buffet offered on Thursday in Four Seasons Dining had repetitive selection that didn’t have much flavor. The only tasty treats were the chocolate covered cherries.

Four Seasons dining – we ate here once when we couldn’t get into the French restaurant. The food was good and the service was excellent.

Sports Bar – We ordered hamburgers, chicken wings and pizza when the buffet and restaurants were

closed. Better than room service, but you have to wait about 15-20 mins for your food.

Laundry – There aren’t any laundries on the Sun, so you need to bring enough clothes or utilize the laundry service on board. We didn’t use it, so I don’t know the exact costs.

Casino – The casino is about average size for a cruise ship. There aren’t many table games (They do have 3 card, Blackjack, Roulette, Let It Ride). Minimums were about $5.00 for the entire trip. The slots didn’t pay out very much and we didn’t see very many people getting paid. They do have a Texas Hold’em room, $60.00 buy in and it is 1-2 no limit. There are also two tournaments offered for a $60.00 buy in, with rebuys. They pay the top 5. We did both tournaments and my boyfriend came in 5th on the first and was paid $128.00, I came in 6th on the second and got nothing. The casino also offers a lottery each night at 11pm. Each ticket is $2 and you get 5 numbers. The jackpot is up to $150,000 and if you get only 3 numbers you can win $2,000. We bought these each day…didn’t win. But they offer a drawing for consolation prizes. I won three art prints in the drawing.

Pool – We used the Jacuzzis a few times, but didn’t use the pool but for a quick dip. We found it hard to find towels on occasion. The best bet is to pick some up as you leave the area for the next day, or get there early. There seemed to be plenty of seating except on At Sea days.

Shows – We only made it to the Family Comedy and Magic Show. It was funny, and we planned to go to his Adult show but didn’t make it.

Roatan – We only walked off the boat and went a few blocks. There are a lot of kids selling jewelry and trying to get you to give them tips. Hold on to your belongings and watch the traffic. There aren’t many shops right off the port.

Belize – Same as Roatan, but a little better. We went on the Reef Fishing tour. It was a lot of fun and we caught about 14 fish.

Cozumel – The best port of the trip. We did the ATV excursion at this port. I recommend it, only if you don’t have back problems etc. It is very bumpy.

I am sure I missed a lot… if anyone has questions please let me know. Enjoy your trips! :) :)

We're sailing on Saturday. If you can scan the Dailies that would be just wonderful.

It sounds like you had a good time even with the few disappointments you came upon.

Also sailing this Saturday and would love to see the dailies. posting would be better since I doubt I will get them at my work email and won't have time to check home email before Thursday night. First time on NCL.

Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review CRISSTYD!

Just curious what other cruises you have been on when you are comparing?

We've sailed with Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Disney, and will be taking our first cruise with NCL on the SUN in March.

Thanks again for sharing your experience!

:)
