3-night Mercury; Formal Night???

I did a search ... honestly ... and couldn't find the answer. I am on the Mercury for one of the 3-night PNW cruises, next month. One of my Roll Call Mates mentioned that Celebrity doesn't do Formal Nights on 3-night cruises.

 

I know that Royal Caribbean has a Formal Night on their 3-night cruises, and I consider Celebrity to be more "formal" than RCI, so I am confused. Can someone offer their experience, please? I'm going with some cruise newbies, and don't want to steer them wrong.

We did the three day cruise last year on Mercury and one night was formal. I'm going again on a three day in October and am planning for one formal night.
