Ques. on when shore excursions are charged

Hi, I just attempted to book some shore excursions but have a question about when they are charged. In reading the description it appears they are charged to your credit card when booked and then refunded if canceled.

 

I just want to be sure as I have OBC I had wanted to use to pay for them but won't be able to if I book them in advance per my read of the policy.

 

Also I'm somewhat used to the way Princess does it where you can book, change your mind, cancel etc. with no charges to track until you are actually on-board where they are charged to your on-board account.

When you book shore excursions in advance they charge your card immediately. If you cancel before the cruise they will refund your card. If you cancel after the cruise starts then then you'll get a credit to your shipboard account.
