cheerioandsalut Posted September 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2009 And please don't say "scrapbook!" LOL Do you need to have printed photos when you go to the class? Did you like the class?
h2owatson Posted September 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2009 I am interested in this too. I don't really scrap book but it sure would be fun for me and my Mom to do together since it is a Mother/Daughter cruise! Dina
SportsChick Posted September 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 3, 2009 I did it on Princess, not sure if Carnival is the same. We were given a photo of the ship (really nice picture) and some basic supplies. I've been scrapping for a very long time and the "teacher" of the class couldn't work the Sizzix machine. I ended up teaching HER how to use the equipment.
DFritz Posted September 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 3, 2009 We've had to teach the "staff" to work the machines and gadgits as well. They usually don't have a clue. Generally they bring out tubs full of paper scraps, scissors, shape punchers, and glue sticks. Sometimes they will have a book of ideas for you to look at and they may give you a little baggie of pre-cut shapes. It's really more for the total first time scrapper. If you've done more than two pages in your life you may not want to sit in. It is a great family half hour activity.
cheerioandsalut Posted September 3, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted September 3, 2009 Thanks for the info. I love scrapbooking and I think next cruise I'll actually take my stuff on the cruise with me. It doesn't sound like the cruise class is something I'd go to, though. Thanks!
aubreysmom Posted September 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2009 Sounds like this is the perfect class for me!!!! I have always wanted to scrapbook - just never have. My DD and I should do this on our mother-daughter cruise in December. :)
mandyc3383 Posted September 3, 2009 #7 Share Posted September 3, 2009 My friend and I went to the scrapbooking class on the Pride a few weeks ago. The class consisted of two entertainment staff members sitting on the edge of the couch. They brought along some supplies that we were free to use on our own such as paper scraps, glue sticks and glitter. They displayed a few scrapbook albums and scrapbook kits that were for sale. They did not teach us anything. For the cruisers I saw it as more of a self guided activity if you wished to participate. For Carnival I saw it as a way to sell more products. cmecruise1962 Posted September 3, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 3, 2009 I don't think the class is really for a first timer, as they didn't "teach" anything...but I did get some cool cut-outs and stickers for free...I just brought them home, so I could scrap book at my leisure with my stuff! lovetocruise25 Posted September 3, 2009 #9 Share Posted September 3, 2009 Which boats have scrapbooking classes? Do they have it on the Carnival Sensation 3 day?
sam1148 Posted September 3, 2009 #10 Share Posted September 3, 2009 Your grand children will open the book one day. They'll find a picture someone took while on vacation at Cape Canaveral where they met John Glen at a resturant and made a snap shot. Then someone "Scrap booked it" and took pinking shears to ruffle up the edges, poured glitter on it, and glued it to a wall paper sample.
