Not familiar with Altieri, do they have a web site? We stayed at Best Western Bologna in Mestre which was directly across from the train station.

They have an elevator, but you would probably have to fold it to get it in the door. The elevator was very small. It had a large bathroom with a separate shower.

thanks for the info, i'll check out the best western, i can't find a web site for Altieri Hotel Mestre, found them on venere, they're across from the bus station & have complimentary pick up from airport. took the bus from airport to venice last yr & wheelchair was fine. can't remember where the train station was, just drawing a blank, think it was close to p.roma :confused:

In October we will be staying at the Hotel Al Vivet - they have a chair lift that will take you to the "first" floor and they have handicap rooms. It is located on a huge pedestrian piazza with lots of shops and restaurants.......

I stayed at Hotel Holiday in Mestre. It was about 4 blocks from an accessible bus stop. Had a handicap room. It was a 20 min. bus ride into Venice. Also booked it on venere.
