Grannycb Posted September 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2009 Thanks to those who read this and answer! We have two cruises paid in full on RCCL, one this month, one in October. The October cruise will make us Diamond. We've seen a Celebrity cruise we would like to book that departs in January. Here are my questions: 1. Can we get the balcony discount on Celebrity with our RCCL Diamond status? 2. Can we get the $200 balcony discount if we book before the October cruise has taken place? Celebrity doesn't offer a "balcony discount."
hajekfam Posted September 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2009 Celebrity only offers an upgrade of one category - inside to inside or oceanview to oceanview. It is only available if you book a particular cabin. The way it works is that you book your cabin (either an inside or oceanview) and pay one category lower price - of course if you book the lowest category oceanview or lowest category inside, there is no lower price. From Celebrity's website regarding the one category upgrade: One-category upgrade requests must be made at the time of booking and apply only for inside-to-inside or outside-to-outside staterooms, depending on availability. This offer cannot be used with certain restricted fares. Upgrades apply for one stateroom per cruise. Stateroom assignments only. Suites, ConciergeClass and verandas excluded. Not valid on holiday sailings or Reunion Cruises. Celebrity Century, Celebrity Mercury, Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Summit and Celebrity Constellation: Upgrades available from categories 11-4. The membership benefit is for membership at the equivalent level in the other club. When sailing, you get the membership benefits of the club of whichever line you are on. kitty9 Posted September 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2009 There's no such thing as a balcony discount on Celebrity. They have cabin upgrades for their Elite members, but you don't get Elite membership on Celebrity using your RCI credits. You'll only be a Select member of Captain's Club. Their Club upgrades are not for balconies, only for inside and oceanview.

Do you have the Captain's Club savings certificate? Try that and see if it works.

Since the OP stated that they have RCCL diamond status, they would be elite members when joining the Captain's club. Platinum Crown & Anchor equals Select Captains Club Diamond & Diamond Plus Crown & Anchor equals Elite Captain's club.
